“Are we squared up?” Weston asks as he rejoins the group.
“Maxi is cashing us out now, and Morris is waiting outside to take us home,” Langford says.
Weston tilts his chin toward the booth he just left. “I think Kylee is going to give me a ride home,” he says.
“Good. One less stop for us,” Corbin states.
“Did you hear the news?” Langford asks Weston.
“What news?”
“It seems Corbin and Maxi here have a hot date tomorrow.”
Weston’s head snaps to Corbin. “No shit?”
I walk over and hand Langford back his card.
“You guys are worse than a gaggle of high school girls. Yes, we’re two adults, going out to dinner. Jeez.”
Weston slaps Corbin on the back. “Hell yeah, brother.”
Corbin rolls his eyes.
“Wait till I get home and call Garrett,” Weston continues.
“It’s almost two in the morning,” Corbin tells him.
“He’ll want to be woken up for this news.”
“Yep. Gaggle of high school girls,” I repeat before gathering the used glasses.
Weston rejoins his female friend, and Langford makes one last trip to the restroom before he and Corbin leave.
I’m wiping down the bar when Corbin asks, “Are we really going out tomorrow?”
“Of course we are. If you want this to work, it has to look real, even to your family, or Susanna and her cronies will smell a rat. So, you, Corbin Tuttle, are going to be wining and dining me like a proper boyfriend.”
“I can do that,” he assures.
I grab a napkin from the bar and snatch the pen from behind my ear. I write my phone number down and slide it to him. Then, I hand him another napkin and the pen.
“Write yours down, so I can put it in my phone. I don’t answer unknown numbers,” I instruct.
He writes down his number, and I take it and place it in my apron.
I extend my right hand, and he takes it. We shake, and then he turns my palm over and kisses my wrist.
A shiver slides down my spine at the contact.
“I’ll call you tomorrow to confirm our plans,” he says.
Oh, this is going to be fun.
