“I told my mom that I’d be there Friday night. When are you guys going?”

“I do not know. I will ask Cota.” I lounged back and put my feet up. “We are doing decorating in the new place, so maybe we will go Saturday.”

“You guys should come Friday night. We can have a movie night.” She pointed the remote at the screen. “Mom has a theatre at the manor. “

We stopped chatting when the movie started. At first, I was confused as to what she had us watching, but it got much better as the movie went on. Cota had been right that the shopping scene was like our trip today. I would not wear the tie as she did in the movie, but he would still like the gesture.

How should I present the tie to him? I don’t want to be too forward.

ChapterFifty-Two

COTA

Our meetings went into dinner. Sabrina was having a movie night with Murphy and said she had a late lunch and not to worry about it. Even though it was okay with her, I still wanted to be home with her.

Get ahold of yourself. This girl is leaving in a year… unless I can get her to stay.

Poppy was at the manor, leaving Kellan free to do what he wanted and, since he never partied, he would normally have gone home. Tonight, he decided to stay after dinner with his clients for drinks. I opted out. If I left before him, I might get a chance to see Sabrina alone for a few minutes.

“I’m on my way home. Are you still watching movies?”I sent a text.

“Charlie just left, and Murphy is leaving in a few minutes.”

“Are you tired of movies or do you wanna watch one with me?”

“I can watch one more. Because of your bad habits, I now want a snack.”

“I can bring something home. How about pizza?”

“I tasted pizza today when we were shopping. It is very good.”

“Nah, you had the kind of pizza Murphy gets. I’ll bring home real New York pizza.”

“I am excited to try another pizza. See you soon.”

I said my goodbyes to Kellan and the clients. Kellan’s driver was waiting out front when I exited, so I sent Kellan a text that I’d send his driver right back for him and told the driver to bring me to Penn Station. Sabrina had to try the best pizza; it was in a little place in a corner of Penn Station. I might even grab a few donuts right next door.

I hope they’re still open.

I was in luck, they were still open. I grabbed a few slices and some garlic rolls then went back to the car. When I got to the penthouse, it was quiet. The television was on with no volume, but Sabrina was nowhere to be found. I placed the pizza on the counter and went to knock on her bedroom door.

“Hey Sabrina, I’m here with the pizza,” I called out from the hall.

She didn’t answer. I began to think she’d gone to sleep waiting on me when I spotted movement on the balcony. It startled me for a moment. I smiled into the empty room and walked over to the balcony door.

“Welcome home.” She turned to face me. “I bought you something today.”

“A tie.” I laughed. “Oh my God, that is hilarious.”

There she stood, leaning on the balcony railing with a tie around her neck. She was trying to imitate the movie and I appreciated it a lot.

“Do you like it?”

“I love that you bought me something while you were out and, yes, I like the tie too.” I reached to touch the tie. “Although, it looks pretty special on you.”

“Thank you.” She took the tie off. “What movie do you want to watch?”

“You can pick one from our list.” I put the tie over my head. “I got the pizza.”
