“Gladly.”

“Ready to go?”I hefted Ella’s bag on one shoulder as mine slipped from my other.

Andrew rushed toward me. He looked from Ella to me and back at Ella helplessly. “Let’s trade.”

I dropped the bags and took my daughter, settling her back in her carrier.

I looked around the dining room, still filled with all the people in my life who cared about us. Overwhelmed, I blinked a few times to get my emotions in check. I’d been isolated for so long that at times, it was difficult to remember I wasn’t anymore.

“Thank you.” My voice was barely audible over the chatter. I cleared my throat and tried again. “Thank you,” I repeated. A hush fell over the room. “I can’t think about what could have happened if it weren’t for all of you. You’ll never know how grateful I am. Never.”

“Where are you going?” Sonya asked, staring at the bags.

“We’re just glad you’re okay,” Vivian said, elbowing Sonya.

“Hello, I’m pregnant.”

“Like we could forget,” Muriella said. I covered my mouth to hide my smile. She turned to me. “You’re sure you won’t stay with us?”

I nodded and glanced toward Andrew. “It’s time for a new start.”

Her eyes filled with understanding. “We’re here. Whatever you need.”

“I appreciate that.”

“Let us give you a ride,” Daniel said as he stepped forward.

Drew muscled toward me. “I’ll get the bags.”

“I’ve got them,” Andrew said, easily lifting both of them.

“We’re coming over tomorrow.” Vivian hooked her arm through Daniel’s.

“There’s no point in protesting?” I asked.

“Nope.” She shook her head.

“We’ll bring lunch,” Muriella added.

Mrs. Quinn eased over to me. “Don’t be a stranger.”

I threw my arms around her. “This place is too important to me.You’retoo important.”

“Then I guess I’ll be over for lunch tomorrow too.”

“I should hope so.”

“Let’s go home, Bright Side.”

I threaded my fingers through Andrew’s as he picked up Ella’s carrier. “Let’s go home.”

Chapter Forty-Three

Trish

“I can’t believethey really moved in together.”

Andrew pressed the doorbell to Baker and Holt’s new place and held my hand as we waited. “I’m surprised too. But I’m glad Holt’s home.”
