“Oh,” Jenna breathed. Dima had arranged for the chef to be there, to cook for her.

“I think you made major brownie points with that move, son.”

“Well, then I guess it was a good thing you could stay up long enough to cook our dinner, old man.”

Listening to the two tease back and forth was surreal, and really, really cool. Jenna couldn’t believe she was getting the chance to do just that, much less that her favorite chef ever was going to make her dinner.

The food was amazing, but Dima’s company was the best part of the night. Not that she was going to tell him that.

The man had enough personal confidence.

“I am not sure if it will be me in your bed tonight, or dreams of your crush,” he teased her as she swooned over dessert.

She shook her head, too serious about this to tease. “It can only ever be you if you are the one that is there, Dima.”

She’d wanted him so long. How many sexy times dreams had she had about this man? Even more disturbing, how many regular life dreams had she had about him?

Despite the sure and certain knowledge she would never have a child, she had dreamed about having a baby with him every few months for the past few years. She’d never told a soul. Not Nataliya. Not Luke or Lisa.

It was no use sharing dreams that could never come true.

And Jenna had no desire to be pitied.

CHAPTER ELEVEN

THATNIGHTTHEYmade love in the shower, but Jenna went to bed alone because Dima had work he had to do.

She woke in the middle of the night to his naked body wrapped around hers, and it felt so right. She could have pulled away on principle.

It wasn’t supposed to feel this good to sleep with another person. In fact, Jenna had never liked having someone else in her bed. Not a lover, not a friend, not her sister.

She liked her space, but with Dima, she gravitated to him in her sleep.

Deciding it wasn’t worth worrying about when they only had two weeks together, she snuggled in and let herself go back to sleep.

Jenna next woke to an empty bed beside her, but the sound of the shower running indicated Dima hadn’t been gone long. She threw back the covers and padded naked into the bathroom.

He stood under the shower, hot water cascading down over his golden body.

Jenna throbbed between her legs, her nipples beading with need.

He turned, like he knew she was there, and his welcoming smile drew her like a magnet.

Jenna stepped into the shower and right into a good-morning kiss that curled her toes.

They didn’t have penetrative sex but used their hands to give one another pleasure before he jumped out, reminding her to save the harbor cruise for him.

Jenna stood under the hot water way too long for conscience’s sake. She wasn’t saving any dolphins with this long shower.

Grimacing at the thought, she finally turned off the water and got out to dry off. She had the whole morning to sightsee, and she planned to make the most of it.

She discovered that Dima had left a car and driver at her disposal. Jenna took advantage, loving that this driver was both friendly and clearly enamored of his adopted city. He told her stories about many of the buildings they passed as well as his own life in New York.

He insisted she have a hot dog from a vendor for lunch. Jenna was so glad she did. She’d never had one with that much flavor and dressed so perfectly.

At two o’clock, he took her to the harbor, but not the docks where the boats that hosted the harbor cruises were moored.

This dock had row after row of yachts.
