She’d been hurt when he’d had to stop her pressing charges against Skylar, but he thought Jenna had come to terms with that.

He was damn lucky, and he knew it. Looking back, he’d messed up on a huge scale with the timing of their first time making love too, but again...she’d forgiven him.

Now, he just had to show her that he was more than his title. That he was a man capable of enhancing her life, not only making it more difficult.

There was nothing he could change about most of her reservations about a future with him, other than show her that they were not the barrier she believed them to be. Except for one thing.

And he had to think long and hard how much he was willing to give up to be with the woman he had decided was perfect for him. But if he took the step he was considering, it could well wash away her concerns about her sterility as well.

He had just under two weeks to show her that all her misgivings were about things that were not as important as how much they needed each other.

And she did need him. Just as he needed her.

Jenna’s phone range, interrupting her doze beside the pool. She pulled it up and noted it was a video call. From Nataliya.

She swiped to answer immediately.

“When were you going to tell me you were dating my youngest brother-in-law?” Nataliya demanded as soon as the call connected.

Jenna was in too good a mood to even work up some worry about discussing this with her BFF. “There wasn’t any chance of me dating the other one,” she teased rather than answering.

Nataliya’s lovely face twisted in distaste. “No kidding. Even if the guy wasn’t so gone on Emma, you two would have murdered each other in your sleep if you tried to actually sleep together.”

Still not completely over Prince Konstantin’s matchmaking methods, Jenna could only agree. “Yep.”

“So, you and Dima?”

“He’s kind of perfect for me.”

“Even though he’s a prince with a pretty high-handed way of handling life?” Nataliya didn’t pull any punches.

“No one is perfect.” Jenna shifted in her lounge chair and pulled her wrap on, using the new portable phone stand Dima had gotten her without compunction.

She was carrying a purse again too. It helped that he’d asked his security team to go through all the stuff she’d brought with her one last time to set her mind at ease.

Relaxed in the certainty no one was spying on her, Jenna was thoroughly enjoying her holiday.

“No,” Nataliya said with alacrity. “Though Dima is a good guy, even if he isn’t perfect.”

“He really is.” One of the best actually.

“You know, I was sure you’d never give in to your feelings for him.” Nataliya peered at her phone screen like she was trying to look inside Jenna’s head.

Jenna just shrugged. “He can be very persuasive.”

“In other words, you could fight your own needs, but not his too.”

“You’re so wise, oh, pregnant one.”

Nataliya grimaced. “I’m so nauseated, it’s ridiculous, but my doctor assures me that’s a good sign.”

“Can they give you anything for it?”

“Stop worrying about me. I’ll be fine. Women have been dealing with pregnancy nausea throughout history.”

“Yes, but—”

“Don’t. The miscarriage was an anomaly, and there’s no reason to suspect it will happen again, but if it does? I know you’ll be there for me, just like last time.”
