I spit out my coffee. “You were serious about that?”

He smiled at me, and I almost melted. “Absolutely. Go get dressed so we can get moving. I’ve already done the morning care and set the guys on their schedule for the day. I have time.”

My hand raised to my hair when I realized I was sitting here looking like a whole damn mess. “It’s only eight o’clock.”

“Yup, exactly. Now half the day is gone. If you want the tour, let’s go. If not, that’s fine too. I got other things to do.”

I’m sure I looked like a deer in headlights, but I wasn’t sure if I wanted this tour or not. Hell, I wasn’t even sure if he wanted to give it or if he was just following through on what he said to his son. “I should know where I’m staying, right?”

“If you want to stay safe while you’re here, yes. There are some things I need to show you, places you need to know about if things go south.”

Nodding, I stood up from my chair to go get dressed when he grabbed my wrist. I felt a frisson of electricity travel up my arm and jumped back. His face looked just as surprised as I felt. “What the fuck?”

Clint placed his hands up as if surrendering. “Um, I’m sure it was just some static electricity clinging to me from inside.”

“Yeah, okay,” I said, taking a step back. “Did you need something?”

“What?” he looked up at me with a furrowed brow.

“You grabbed me. Was there a reason?” Maybe the shock had done something to his brain.

“Oh, yeah. I did.”

He stood as well, which caused my eyes to travel along his body. With my head on a bit straighter, I could get a better look at him. Clint had to be at least six feet two inches, much taller than my own five feet five inches. His blue eyes were striking. When he looked at me, it was like he could see inside me. His body was perfectly proportioned. I wonder if he had the Adonis belt thing going on. Yeah, I could probably guess that he absolutely did.

“Tamara!”

My gaze shot up to his face. How long had he been calling my name as I sat here ogling him? “Huh? What did you say?”

He glanced at me with a smirk. I looked away. Even if I was fantasizing about counting his abs with my tongue, he didn’t have to know it.

“Focused on something else, I see.”

Nope, I wasn’t falling for that at all. “I need to go change if we’re going on this tour. Can I go now?” Okay, fine. Maybe I was a little embarrassed to be caught checking him out.

“Maybe I need to find a way to adjust your attitude,” he murmured.

“Well, my attitude is what got me here, so I don’t think it’s going anywhere.”

“You’re going to be the death of me….”

“Why?”

He just stood there and shook his head at me. “Go get dressed. I’ll be out here waiting for you. Do you know how to ride a horse?”

Well, that got my attention. “Hell no. Why would I know how to ride a horse? I’m from the city. We may still consider Virginia the Old South, but I live in the suburbs with coffee stores on every corner and cars that I can reserve online.” He sighed, and I could tell he was frustrated. Again, not my problem.

“Fine. That means you’ll have to ride with me. There’s too much land for us to walk.”

That wasn’t any better. Sitting with my body pressed against Clint’s was not my idea of a relaxing morning. I was already having inappropriate thoughts about this man, who was practically a stranger. I sure as she didn’t need to have my intimate parts pressed against his hard body while we rode a damn horse. “Um, don’t you have like a dune buggy or golf cart we can drive?”

He stared at me for a few moments, with those cerulean blue eyes practically looking into my soul. His lips curled in a smile. I knew I wasn’t going to like the answer he gave me.

“No.” Tipping his hat to me, he stepped off the porch and made his way down the steps to the ground. “I’ll see you in ten minutes.”

The only thought running through my mind was, You in danger, girl.

If that wasn’t the damn truth, I didn’t know what was. Draining my cup of coffee, I turned to walk into the house. Well, I’d better get dressed.
