Page 118 of Claiming Vanessa

More degradation.

Pregnancy.

And I have to submit to all of it.

There’s no running away this time.

But then, there never really was, was there?

Tears fill my eyes all over again, and I try to blink them away.

Slayer leans in to kiss where the tears are welling up. “She’s so pretty when she cries,” he says. “I think we’ve given her a lot to cry about today. Should we give her more? What do you think, Jules?”

“I was thinking,” Giulio says, staring at me. “Since she’s such a flight risk, we might need to tie her up. Down. All over.” He licks his lips. “Wouldn’t that be fun, Vanessa?”

I can practically hear the dare in his words. I know what he expects, and I know what he wants. “Yes,” I whisper, even though that doesn’t sound like any fun at all.

Slayer groans and steps away, producing the handcuffs from his back pocket. “Good thing I’ve got these on me. I know you probably have rope on hand, but…” He shrugs. “We won’t run out of things to bind her with.”

“Rope,” Damien says in a strangled voice. “There’s—the rope, in the bedroom. The red will look good against her skin.”

Giulio laughs and gives Damien an affectionate smile. “See, you complain about me, but I take good care of you, don’t I?”

“I only complain because you make things difficult on purpose,” Damien protests. He gets between me and Slayer and wraps his thick hand around my neck. “But yes, I appreciate your gifts, Giulio.”

I’m not a gift.

I squirm against Damien, but he tightens his grip on my throat until I go still.

“All right, let’s see if we can fit four people on my bed.” Giulio gets up and stretches his arms. “Unless you changed your mind, Slayer?”

“Changed my mind about what?” Slayer asks, stepping away from Damien and me. His eyes linger on where Damien has a grip on me, though, and his hand has dropped between his legs. He squeezes himself, obviously getting off on what Damien is doing.

“I dunno, man, you two closet cases get weird when there’s another dude involved.” Giulio starts walking toward the bedroom. At least it isn’t his reptile room.

“I’m not straight,” Damien protests softly. “The issue isn’t another man.” He squeezes my neck briefly before guiding me to follow Giulio.

Slayer laughs. “Yeah, it’s only an issue when it’s me.” He falls into step behind us, his voice mocking as he goes on, “He’s only got eyes for you, Jules. Surprised he even gives Vanessa the time of day.”

I wish that were true. I don’t want to deal with Damien’s creepy obsession. If he loves Giulio so much, he should turn all his attention on him, not me.

“Vanessa is perfect,” Damien says, almost predictably. “You told me you wanted children. To start a family. I’m giving you that, Vanessa. I don’t understand why you aren’t happier.”

Dumbfounded, I pause, and he lets go of my throat enough to let me turn and face him. “You know I didn’t mean now. With someone like— With someone I don’t even know. I wanted to finish school first, I wanted to build a life first—”

“Blah blah blah,” Slayer interrupts. “Little Miss Perfect tried to run away, remember? Even if she wants kids, she’s not the best option anymore. Maybe someone like Stef or Cat would be better.” He laughs. “Can you imagine getting Cat pregnant? She’d be so pissed.”

From the bedroom, Giulio calls, “Are you three coming? I’m getting bored here.”

Damien and Slayer both snort in amusement. I wish I could find any of this funny.

They lead me the rest of the way there. The bedroom isn’t any different from when I last was here, although the sheets are a different color. Nice to know Giulio changes his sheets regularly.

Because that’s what’s important here.

Giulio’s already stripped down to his underwear. A long length of smooth rope, bright red, is on his lap.

He holds some of it up. “All right, you’re the expert, Damien. Unless you want me to do the tying, and risk cutting off her circulation.”
