“Oh yeah,” Truman tells him. “You bet I get to kiss your mom now. All the time.”
Ryle sighs like he’s grossed out. “Do I have to eat the sauce?”
“You said you would try it,” Truman reminds him.
Ryle looks to me for help when Truman puts him down once we’re in the kitchen.
“If you told Daddy you would try it, I think you should try it.”
“Great.” He rolls his eyes. “Now you’re ganging up on me.”
I laugh as I sink down to a kitchen chair and pull Ryle into my lap.
“Where do you learn this stuff?” I mumble as I kiss the top of his head again.
“Dad says maybe you’ll get me a baby brother.”
Stunned at Ryle’s comment, I glance at Truman to find him laughing behind his hands.
“Go wash up for dinner,” Truman tells Ryle. We watch our son run from the room and then look at each other. “He asked for one. I didn’t volunteer the offer.”
“Do you want more kids?” I ask him when he leans over me.
“I do,” he says with a nod, “but you know what I want first?”
“What?”
“I want to know everything you felt and did when you were pregnant with him.”
“Truman.” I wrap my fingers around the back of his neck and press my lips to his.
“Tell me everything, Jules.”
