“Hey, babies,” she responded and hugged them.

“Dinah, this is my girlfriend, Cam. Dinah is the second oldest,” I explained.

“Wow, I’m honored! Moe is usually very private,” Dinah whispered to Cam.

“Your whispering skills are trash,” I said.

“I wasn’t whispering big head. You are gorgeous, Cam. Come on, let me introduce you to the family,” Dinah said.

Dinah took Fee’s hand while Cam still held Skye’s hand and walked into the pavilion. I followed behind them and parked the wagon by one of the tables. Dinah introduced Cam to Sarah before moving on to the next family member. I walked over and gave Sarah a hug.

“I knew you were going to make it,” Sarah smiled after Cam and Dinah walked away. “Are you coming to church tomorrow, too?”

“You got me here, don’t press your luck,” I responded, knowing that I’d already told the girls that we were going to church and I let Cam take them the store to find new dresses.

“Whatever,” Sarah waved me off, knowing I was just talking. “You look good, baby brother. Have you spoken to Mother yet?”

“No, we just arrived. We are making our rounds now,” I said, scanning the pavilion for Cam and the girls. I saw them talking to one of my cousins.

“Your girlfriend is beautiful. The girls seem to like her a lot,” Sarah smiled.

“Yeah, she is, and they do.”

“You like her?” Sarah questioned.

“I must like her if I’m bringing her around this group of misfits,” I chuckled.

“You right about that!” Sarah laughed. “Go ahead and find your family. I’ll be over here getting all this food put out.”

I started to walk away.

“Moe,” Sarah called out.

“Yes?” I said after turning back to face her.

“Thank you for coming. This means a lot to Mommy and me,” Sarah finished.

“Yeah…” I said and continued to find my family.

I saw my girls talking to two little girls who were around their age with the same turquoise t-shirt on.

“Daddy, this is Katy and Carly,” Skye said.

“Hello, Katy and Carly, who are your parents?” I asked.

“Those are my daughters,” I heard come from behind me.

I straightened up and turned around to face my younger brother Karlos.

“I didn’t think you would grace us with your presence,” he said sarcastically.

I took a deep breath because I realized four little girls were watching the interaction between us.

“Yeah, we made it,” I mumbled.

“I guess you didn’t recognize my girls because you haven’t seen them since they were babies.”

“I guess,” I shrugged and took a deep breath. “They are beautiful.”
