“You remembered all of that?”

“It’s what saved me. I was so nervous to the point of sickness. It was my first audition, and I didn’t know what to do. You got my attention when you said you were from St. Louis, but after you finished, I just went in and danced like the talented bitch that I am!” Kira finished.

“That’s what’s up!”

We high fived.

“Of course I didn’t get chosen for the tour, but I’ve danced with her since then. Your words always echo in my head before I have auditions,” Kira smiled.

“Okay, so it’s a little dusty in here,” I chuckled. I quickly swiped away a tear. “Thank you for sharing that with me. I’d forgotten about that, but I do remember how scared you all looked. I just wanted to let you know that you were already enough.”

“What’s wrong,” Morris said when he arrived at the table.

“Nothing,” I smiled.

“Kira and I have sorta met before,” I explained.

“I’m not surprised,” Morris said. “She knows someone every time we go out.”

“Make sure you let me know if you’re doing something local or even away. We will come and support,” I said.

Kira looked at Morris.

“We will,” he smiled.

Kira grabbed me and hugged me.

“Thanks again, Cam,” she said before walking away.

“Hey y’all,” Karleen said, sitting down in the seat Kira had just vacated.

“Morris, can I talk to you for a minute?” Karlos said.

“Yeah,” Morris responded and stood to follow Karlos away from the table.

“So,” Karleen smiled. “Church was great, right?”

“It was amazing! I am so happy all of that happened. I just hope it sticks.”

“That’s why I’m so glad Moe and Los walked away. I want to make sure it sticks. The best way to do that is to make sure the girls spend time together, and you and I spend time together. They won’t have a choice,” Karleen explained.

“But long term, I don’t know. I don’t know where Morris and I are going. I mean, we are happy, but we haven’t necessarily discussed being together long term,” I honestly explained.

“Cam, are you serious?” Karleen deadpanned. “I’ve been around this family for years. Even though Moe didn’t come around as often as I’d seen most of the other siblings, I’ve seen him quite a bit, and never, ever has he brought someone for us to meet. I’ve never even met the girls’ mother. So, if you’re concerned about how he feels, I think it’s very obvious. I know you are going to be around for the long haul…permanently.”

I smiled. I wanted to be with Morris, but we really hadn’t talked about our future plans.

“I hope so. I haven’t voiced this to anyone, but I’m so in love I’m getting on my own nerves!” I chuckled.

“A blind man could see that you both are.”

“I’m down with your plan.”

“Good, then let’s schedule some dates,” Karleen smiled.

Morris

I followed Los to a corner of the room. He stopped and turned to face me.
