“Do we have enough time to take this dress off you for a few minutes?”

“No, we don’t, but you can take it off at the end of the night when we get back,” I answered.

“That works, too,” he said and kissed my neck.

We were going to the Valentines’ house for a party celebrating the opening of several of the businesses in the revitalization project, includingSuite Dreams. As soon as I’d made the announcement that I was leasing out the suites, I’d had so many inquiries that I had to create a waiting list. Morris mentioned possibly looking for another building to houseSuite Dreamsnumber three. I could barely wrap my head around owning the first one; there was no way I was ready for a second building.

Morris had been amazing with drawing up contracts for my new tenants. He also became my property manager, so he was responsible for dealing with issues and collecting the rent leaving me free to still do hair and run my extension business.

We pulled into the front of the massive mansion and waited for the car in front of us to unload before we pulled forward to the valet.

“The girls are going to spend the night with Mother. Katy and Carly are spending the night there as well,” Morris said.

“I didn’t know they were spending the night. I didn’t pack them any pajamas or anything.”

“I grabbed some stuff for them while you were finishing up at the shop,” Morris said.

“Oh…”

“Baby, it’s cool. They will be fine. They wanted to go.”

I’d been hovering over the girls since their mother passed just trying to make sure they were okay. They hadn’t been away from me overnight since it had happened.

“Okay, but if they are ready to leave, we will go and get them?”

Morris took my hand, brought it to his lips, and kissed it.

“Of course.”

We’d fallen into a routine of spending every day together. We usually stayed at his place, but every once in a while, we stayed at mine. We started discussing looking for a house to purchase, but I wanted to wait until I hadSuite Dreamsrunning on its own before I committed to any other projects.

We walked into the party that was already in full swing. Everyone looked good dressed in their evening attire, but I was on the arm of one of the most handsome men in the room. Morris’ custom black tuxedo, white shirt, and black and white striped bowtie looked good on him. I found a black and white sequined floor-length gown with a split on the side to wear.

“Look at you!” Keeva smiled after walking over to us on Kerem’s arm.

“Look at you!” I smiled and gave Keeva a hug. “You look amazing. Where is the baby weight?”

“That’s what I keep telling her. We may have to work on number three if she’s going to keep snapping back like this,” Kerem smiled.

“How is the little one?” Morris asked.

“She’s beautiful,” Keeva said. “She’s with my mother in law, but I miss her.”

“I know, I just found out the girls are staying with Morris’ mother tonight, and I miss them too.”

“I love that!” Keeva said. “How are they doing?”

“They are doing well. We let them talk when they want to talk and keep them busy. I wouldn’t have made it this far with them without Cam,” Morris said.

“Please,” I hit his shoulder.

“You know I’m serious,” Morris winked.

“The right woman makes all the difference in the world, right?” Kerem said.

“Exactly,” Morris returned.

We mixed and mingled until dinner was served. Walking around the room, we found our table close to the front.
