“I thought you did more than just doga.”

“We do, but the next class starts in,” I check my watch. “Twenty minutes and—”

“Great. Sign me up for that one.”

“And it’s chair yoga.”

“Sitting on your ass, lazy exercise? I’ve died and gone to heaven.”

“It’s for the over sixties, though I will warn you it seems to be more the over eighties crowd we draw.” He blinks at me. And again. “You okay?”

“Old people yoga?” He sounds mildly horrified. I laugh and nod. “Erm…”

“It’s fine. You don’t have to stay,” I say, waving a hand dismissively and crossing to the coffee machine to hide my disappointment.

“No! I want to. I only came over as an excuse to spend more time with you anyway. Do you need an assistant? I could stay for the class and help out.”

“I’ve just hired someone,” I say, pointing to Lyrical and introducing them. “But if you’re sure, that would be lovely. It’s definitely useful to have a second pair of hands for the class. If you have time.”

“I’ve got nothing but time for you.”

I blush and because my back is to him still, scrunch my face up in excitement. Inside, silently, I’m giving a girly squeal of excitement.

“Cool, thanks. Can I get you a drink while we wait?”

“I’ll have whatever you’re having.”

You’d have thought he would have learnt his lesson from the chair yoga situation a moment ago, but no. If he wants the same as me then he’s getting the same as me. A glittery gold turmeric latte is it. I smirk to myself and quickly make three drinks before joining him and Lyrical at one of the reclaimed wood tables.

“It’s really nice here,” Quilo compliments, looking around the space.

“Thanks. I like it. It’s a nice space to work in and the studios upstairs are gorgeous.”

“Just like their owner.”

I laugh at his cheesy line and pass him his drink. He stares at it.

“What’s this?”

“What I’ve got,” I reply with a smirk.

“Touché. But what is it?”

“Turmeric latte. It’s incredibly good for you. Try it.”

“Do you ever just...pig out on pizza and crap?”

“All the time! Isn’t that exactly what we did the other week?” I laugh. “You’ve met my daughter right? She’s obsessed with sweet things. And pizza is my all-time favorite food. Life’s just about balance.”

“I knew I liked you. I love pizza too.” That’s hardly a surprise to me. I could have called that the moment I met him, and it was definitely cemented when he devoured more slices than anyone else. “With or without pineapple on it? Be careful...I’ve heard the answer to this question can reveal a lot about how kinky you are in bed.”

Lyrical squeaks, turns bright red and her eyes bug out of her head. I laugh and shake my head at him, before pretending to ponder his question.

“I guess...with the right combination of toppings it can...work.”

He beams at me.

“Right answer, firefly.” He winks.
