“But—”

“No, Peony. I don’t like this at all, and you know Axel and Zie would say the same—”

“You promised!” I gasp.

“And I’ll keep that promise, but you know if they hear about this they’ll freak. And Axel will—”

“I know.”

“C’mere. The boys have practice tonight. Stay in with me and watch a film, yeah? Wanna watch something scary so we can snuggle?”

I tell the others. In fact, I show them. I forwarded the message from her phone when she fell asleep during the film. They’re going to kill him.

And I don’t mean that in an exclamation of anger kind of way. I mean, he is literally a dead man walking. He won’t live to see another sunrise, and he wouldn’t be the first guy we’ve taken care of on Odi’s behalf.

No one looks at, touches, talks to or hits on our girl. Especially not some little weasel in her class. He didn’t even have the balls to ask her outright, he hid behind his screen and sent her a cryptic message.

It was all too easy to text back confirming ‘she’ would meet him tonight. She’ll be doing no such thing of course, but he will be in for the shock of his life when he finds The Holy Trinity waiting for him instead.

Tonight we take care of the trash. Again. Tomorrow we remind everyone she’s ours. And after school we’re getting her damn number changed and locked down.
