“All this fuss for a steak sub?”

“Yes, just try it ours is different I promise.”

I’m skeptical but when I take my first bite, I know why she was dancing in her seat. I have never had a steak sub like this before.

“What is that sauce on it, baby?”

It’s a locally made sauce and sold here only.

“We need a couple of cases when we leave to take with us.”

She laughs at me, as she continues to eat.

I am enjoying my time with her in her hometown. It’s a cute town but I am glad fate sent her to me. We cleaned up her son's house and head towards her childhood home she sold to take one final look at it. The new family has already moved in and have made changes to the house. She looks so sad, and I just want to hold her, but where she asks me to take her now guts me. Twenty minutes later we pull into the cemetery and stop at her son’s headstone shaped like a teddy bear. She stands there and talks to him like he is standing there listening to her, she tells him where she’s going and tells him he better be there when she gets to her new home.

Then to add insult to injury I drive a little up the road and she tells me to stop, she gets out and walks to another headstone and it’s her mother’s. She repeats the conversation with her mom. It’s been a long day and I take her back to the hotel. She is quiet so I just hold her hand. Once we are in the room and I sit on the sofa and pull her in my lap and just hold her. I turn on the music and we sit in the room in each other's arms and listening to the music playing. We sit there for a couple of hours not talking but once she starts to doze off, I push her ass right out my room. I do not have the strength for a redo of last night.
