Eventually William clears his throat, “Nobody is going to introduce us?”

“Oh. My bad, dad. Dad this is Joshua, Joshua this is my dad William and his wife Robin.”

I look at William and I can tell he’s pissed but when I look at Jag the anger is literally radiating off of him.Uh oh. Now William is a first-class ass, but he is no one's punk. And I know Jag isn’t so yeah this has disaster written all over it. Robin’s ditzy ass breaks the tension when she smiles at Jag and extends her hand while batting her lashes.

“Nice to meet you,” she says.

Jag reluctantly shakes her hand briefly and says hello, then he turns back to Saint to continue the conversation, while summarily dismissing them both. He sets up a visit for Saint, Mell, the baby and Bubba to visit.

He turns and looks at me. “We better get going baby. We have a few more stops to make before we get on the road back home.”

“Ok,” I say.

He gets up and helps me off the sofa. When I am standing in front of him, I look up in his eyes and see it. I didn’t think I’d ever see it directed at me but there it is. The look, the look that says you are the most important person in my life, the look that says I will burn this world to ashes for you, the look that says you’re safe with me, the damn look.

I vaguely hear William calling my name. Once he doesn’t get a response, he says to Saint they should be leaving too. And then there is commotion of everyone getting up and moving around. Jag and I are in our own personal bubble as we just stare at each other. He rubs my face and I lean into his touch.

I reach my hands into his hair and say to him, “I love you too.”

His face splits into a huge smile and I swear I see tears well in his eyes. “Hatima yangu, thank you. Let’s get out of here. I need to hold you.”

“Ok. Oh Jag?”

“Yes baby? What the hell is hatima yangu? What is that Japanese?”

He laughs. “No it’s Swahili and it means my destiny.”

Yep, I’m a punk cause I literally stand there crying. He’sbeen calling me that for so long. “Baby”, I say.

“Let’s go Savvy. We need privacy for this conversation.”

“Ok.”

When we get outside, I hug Mell and yell at her to get inside with the baby. I hug Saint and let him know we will swing by before we leave to say goodbye. William and Robin are still there, and I do not bother speaking either of them. But I feel their eyes on me as Jag opens my door and then gets in and drives off. I reach over and grab his hand as he drives us back to the hotel and I swear Demi Lovato’s ‘Sorry Not Sorry’ is playing on repeat in my head.
