“I only wanted him to suffer but once I finish with you, I plan on finding your daughter too. I’m sure someone will enjoy passing her around.”

Oh, that’s the quickest way to get fucked up, threatening my kids I think and as I draw back and straight Leonidas her in her chest. I vaguely register the flames in the background, they must have set the house on fire, I think. She flies back from the blow to her chest, and I am on her as soon as she hits the ground. I am serving her ass up on a ‘you fucked with the wrong one’ platter. I slam her head into the ground a few times and then I start choking the life out of her.

“Bitch, I was on my honeymoon! The fucks wrong with you? Got me over here in this fucked up country! I’m gonna fucking kill your delusional ass right here in this dead ass field. Fucking idiot!” I say, and I continue choking her but that feel too easy for this bitch, so I begin punching her in her face.

“Simple bitch, you’re gonna go get whose daughter hoe? I wanna hear that shit talking now,” I yell. “Where’s that energy you just had?” I yell.

My arms are sore, and my fists hurt, but I keep swinging until I feel a very familiar set of hands pluck me up off her body. I turn around as soon as my feet touch the ground and wrap my arms around his waist and break down crying and this time it’s not an act.

Joshua

As we drive the anxiety is building in me, but I push it to the background because I need to focus on where we are going. As we continue to drive my phone begins to ring, who the hell would be calling me? I don’t have time for calls right now, I think.

I go to silence it when Atlas says, “Answer it Josh, it might be the General with some information or something.”

I hit accept and say, “Hello?”

“Jag!”

“Savannah! Baby, where are you?”

She sounds like she is running. I tell Jabarri to try to trace the call. Matt presses down on the accelerator as Jabarri is tapping away on his laptop. Savannah is asking me where I am, and I tell her I’m coming. Jabarri tells me he found her and I want to scream in frustration to realize that we were only a few miles away from her last night, but I almost cry in relief when I see we are literally a few hundred yards away.

A few minutes later we see a house, but I hear Savvy on the phone talking to a woman. Someone’s found her. I jump out the car before it even comes to a stop. The front door opens and at least six or seven guys come filtering out and begin shooting at us. We jump out the truck and return fire.

These guys couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn. We pick their asses off like it's a video game. While we are handling them, I see a lone figure trying to slip away and I go after him. Cover me I yell as I take off after him. He notices me coming for him and runs faster but I run him down without breaking a sweat. When he faces me, I recognize him, he worked in the store Savannah was taken from and my anger erupts.

I draw back and punch him so hard I hear his jaw crack. He swings and misses. I uppercut his ass and his head snaps back. I hit his ass again and again and I lift his ass up by his throat and shake his ass like a rag doll.

Joseph grabs me. “Where’s Savannah?” he says.

I drop his ass and take off running, when I get to the only place, she could have gone that would provide some type of coverage for her. I hear my brothers right behind me. When I get closer, I see Savannah handing this woman her ass and fussing at her like she’s her child. I pull her off the woman, when I put her down, she turns around, wraps her arms around me, and begins to cry.

The woman is still alive, I am shocked her face looks like dog meat. “Let’s go home baby.”

We are on the plane headed home. We brought the woman and the guy with us but neither of them is talking. But in their condition they can’t talk. Everyone else who was involved is dead and the house burned to the ground. We went straight from rescuing Savvy, to grab our belongings from the safe house, and headed straight to the plane.

Matt came with us as well, since the safe house is no longer safe, he was told to come in for reassignment. Savvy has not let me release her since we found her and I’m ok with that. She’s sleeping finally, it took a while to get her to calm down, I know she was crashing after running on adrenaline for two days straight and all her emotions were finally catching up to her. I cover her with a blanket, lean back in my seat with her in my arms and go to sleep.

We land directly behind the compound in the helicopter we got once we made back to the states and I carry Savvy directly into our suites. She has stayed in my arms since I found her, and she has barely let me outside her sight. I stand her up in the bathroom and strip us both out of our clothes, turn the faucet on and step under the stream of water. I sit down on the bench and almost like she was just waiting to open the flood gates she cried ugly gut-wrenching tears.

Hearing her cry this way made me sick to my stomach, that she had to endure this for even a second pisses off and makes me want to go back to Africa and kill everyone at least two more times. Her tears have triggered my own, we purge our emotions together. After she has calmed down, I wrap her in a towel, head into the bedroom and get in bed still holding Savvy securely in my arms.
