Chapter Seventeen

Analise

My voice came as if from a tunnel when I said, “I don’t think anyone needs to wear clothes tonight.” It sounded bold in my head, but my hands, fisted at my sides, were trembling. I didn’t know what I’d let myself in for. My mother died before giving me “the talk,” and Cyndra never tried. My friends talked, but I never knew for sure what to believe.

And nobody I knew was mated to two males, much less two alphas. My stomach knotted with anticipation.

“Let’s watch a movie.” Tadeo turned and went to the living room. “It’s too early to go to bed.”

“Sounds good. How about something funny?” Sawyer followed the other alpha, and they sat on opposite ends of the couch, leaving the space in the middle for me. We hadn’t even mated yet, but there was a warm comfort to being together in their home. As if I’d always been there.

When I settled between them, they moved closer together, and each laid an arm across my shoulders. Sawyer suggested a light rom com, although I suspected it was neither of their first choice, but I didn’t want to hurt their feelings when they were doing everything to make me feel welcome.

Next time, I’d press harder for their interests but tonight, I’d accept their gift. Another gift from the men who offered me their home and a chance to make a good life with good people. I prayed their pack was filled with others like them, but, of course, people were all different, and no pack was homogeneous. “That sounds perfect,” I replied and settled between them to watch the movie.

The opening credits were still rolling when Tadeo lifted my hand and linked our fingers. He brought them to his lips and nuzzled my knuckles. “If you are unhappy with us, if we scare you or move too fast, or do anything you don’t like, you say so, deal?”

“All right.” My heart rate sped up. What did they have in mind?

Sawyer kissed me on the cheek and tipped my face toward him to reach my lips. His kiss stole my breath, while Tadeo’s butterfly kisses on my wrist sent flutters all the way to my core.

“Okay so far?” Sawyer asked when he sat back.

“Yes,” I breathed. “So okay.”

He trailed his lips along my jaw and nibbled at my earlobe. “We can stop if you like.”

Tadeo had pushed up my sleeve and continued those soft kisses to the inside of my elbow. He looked up at me, dark eyes even darker. “Do you want us to stop?”

“Oh no.” My bones were going liquid. “Please don’t stop.”

“Would you feel comfortable if we took that baggy T-shirt off you?”

I lifted my arms above my head, and they eased it off, leaving me naked from the waist up in the flickering firelight. I wanted to cover myself, suddenly shy. My breasts were bigger than many of the young women I knew, so they were carried down a little by their size. Would they think they were nice? In the pasture, I’d covered up as much as possible, and shifters had the ability to separate the necessary nudity in shifting from sex. Whole packs shifted together with nobody seeming aware at all. Tonight was different.

“You’re beautiful.” Sawyer cupped one of my breasts and stroked his thumb over it.

“You saw me before,” I blurted out, despite my internal logic that shifting naked didn’t count.

Tadeo arched a brow. “But we didn’t know you then.”

He couldn’t have said anything better.

“I’m glad to know you both now.” I kissed Tadeo just as Sawyer closed his lips over my nipple, and my eyes rolled back in my head.
