“You look fucking adorable, Angel,” I say, pulling her back to me for a kiss as she blushes.

“You will be careful tonight, won’t you, Kenz?” She asks when we separate, her expression a mixture of worry and fear.

I pull her back to kiss her again, deeper this time as one hand slides into her hair and the other wraps around her waist to hold her against me, trying to swallow down her fears as my tongue sweeps into her mouth. I pull away from her once more, grinning as she whimpers at the loss of contact.

“There’s no need to worry, tonight’s going to go just the way we planned,” I tell her confidently. “Xave will be here watching the camera feed and Clay and the guys will be there to get me in and bring their fathers here as soon as I deal with them. In and out.”

I smile as she looks at me, trying to detect any cracks in my confidence. She takes a deep breath letting it out on a sigh before she nods, a small smile lifting her lips.

I take a step back and turn to Xave, who grabs me up in his arms as his lips crash against mine. He devours the moans that leave my mouth as his tongue tangles with mine before pulling back way too soon.

“You look so fucking beautiful in that dress, baby,” he says letting his eyes travel down my body before coming back up, locking with mine. “Stick to the plan tonight, Kenzi. I want you out of there and on your way back to us as soon as it’s done.”

“We’ve been planning this for the last three weeks, Xave. I know what I’m doing,” I tell him with a smile as I roll my eyes. “I’ll have all four of them knocked out and be back here in no time.”

“Tonight is different from any other job you’ve done before. You can’t afford to get cocky in there, Kenzi,” his tone is firm, his eyes blazing with a warning not to argue with him on this.

Given the fact that the only thing I will be stabbing the bastards with during the party is a needle filled with enough sedatives to knock them out for at least eight hours, and that it is myonlyjob until we get them all back here, you would believe tonight was one of the easiest jobs I’ve taken yet.

But Xave’s right. I havenevertaken someone from a party they were hosting before, let alonefour someones. In a house full of guards and witnesses. We also need to make sure that we get them out of there before Price arrives. He doesn’t like waiting and hates being stood up even more. So we’re hoping he’ll be so pissed at them for not being there when he turns up that he decides to leave town without waiting for an explanation.

And on top of all of that, I have to rely on people I don’t exactly trust to get them where they need to be so I can do my thing, before then getting them out without being noticed.

Despite all of our meticulous planning there are just way too many things that can go wrong tonight. So instead of voicing the sassy reply that’s about to effortlessly roll off my tongue, I swallow it back down and nod.

“Good girl,” he says as he leans down to press a kiss to my lips and a shiver runs down my spine at the praise, making me want to forget all about my job and stay here with my two favourite people instead. Hopefully in bed. Naked.

Xave chuckles darkly, as if he can tell exactly where my mind has gone, before grabbing the phone that is vibrating in his pocket.

“Later, baby, your car is here. Go and get this done so I can rip that dress off you like I’ve been imagining since you walked down those stairs.”

My eyes close at the image his words conjure in my mind, a small moan making its way past my lips.

“Can’t we just skip to that part of the night?” I ask when I open my eyes, Poppy giggling beside me.

“I’m afraid not,” he says with a grin, “Just use that image in your head as motivation to get back here safely and in one piece.”

“Fine,” I huff out on a breath as I take a step back rolling my shoulders. “Time to get this show on the road.”

Xave turns to grab something off the table, handing them to me. The four devil masks are simple in their design, plain black leather completely covering the top half of the face with small horns sticking out the top. They are what the guys will be wearing so I can recognise them. I’m pretty sure Xave only insisted so I couldn’t get away with stabbing one of them and claiming I didn’t know.

Not that I would. If I end up stabbing one of them they will have definitely deserved it, and I would take great pleasure in telling Xave all about it with a smile on my face.

Poppy leans in to wrap her arms around me once more, kissing me lightly on the cheek as Xave moves to open the door. I walk to stand next to him looking out at the car Clay sent for me, the driver standing next to the back door waiting for me to get in.

“I’ll have eyes on you at all times, baby. Just don’t go anywhere that I couldn’t gain access to the cameras.” he says, grabbing my hand, his grip tightening slightly as he leans down to place a chaste kiss against my lips.

“I’ve got this, Xave, I promise. It’s just another day at the office,” I say, squeezing his hand before letting go and walking towards the car.

The driver opens the door as soon as I’m close enough, tipping his hat as I get into the car before closing the door behind me. The privacy window is up and we have to drive to the other side of town to get to Monroe’s place, so I spend the time adjusting my holsters and making sure everything is in place.

The driver opens my door for me when we pull up and I step out of the car only to stumble slightly at the sight before me, thrown into every woman's wet dream. The guys stand in front of me, suited in all black, the only splash of colour the blood red of their ties to match my dress.

I stand there taking them in, watching as all four of their gazes travel down my body before rising to my face. Well, most of them, anyway. Wyatt’s eyes are glued to where my leg disappears at the slit in my dress, but they are all looking at me like they are starving and have just been presented with a banquet.

“My eyes are up here, Wyatt,” I say, walking to stand directly in front of them.

They all step closer, surrounding me in a semicircle as if to stop anyone from the house catching sight of me.
