Chapter Seventeen

Sadie and Anne weresupportive and happy for me when I gave them more details about what I’d been up to with Owen and Kingston. I shouldn’t have expected otherwise, but my self-esteem was a massive bitch whenever she felt tiny.

Weeks passed, and summer melted into not-quite-summer at an agonizingly slow rate. My days went the same as always, with me getting up early to bake for the shop, and working all day. But my nights were marked by if I got to talk to Owen, or go out with Kingston. When neither was available, I went to bed early and let pleasant dreams of either or both men keep me company.

It didn’t matter that Owen and I limited our conversations tofriendlytopics rather thanromantic, or that my dates with Kingston never ended with more than a kiss. I’d never felt so adored. I’d never enjoyed anyone’s company so much outside of Anne and Sadie.

One Friday night, a little more than a month after I first met them, I was talking to Owen. I’d hesitated to bring upKingstonandloveagain, on the off chance it put an end to these conversations. Apparently I was a little worried after all.

Owen was on the last leg of his trip, and had already described several parts of Atlanta for me. The conversation drifted where it would, and I wasn’t in a hurry to hang up, even though I had to be up early. I wanted to know why, out of all the degrees Owen could have pursued with his knowledge and interests, he chose a cooking.

“I love too cook.” He made it sound so simple. “And I wanted to go into the restaurant business. For me, school was one of my steps. Why an anime gaming café? The real reason, not the flippant answer you gave Ravyn and Ramsey.”

I wasn’t willing to admit this to many people, but it felt okay to tell Owen. “It combines my three favorite things... Anime, gaming, and food, in case that wasn’t clear.”

I could have guessed you love food. My insecurity spoke in his voice. But those scars were far older than he was, and he didn’t deserve to fall under their scrutiny.

“It’s scary how much we have in common,” he said.

“I know what you mean.”

“Have you got your pussy on display tonight?” Owen’s tone was playful.

I smiled at the memory. “No, but I am laying here in nothing but panties and a camisole.”

If he saidshow me,I didn’t know what I’d do. There were some things I wasn’t willing to commit to photo.

Silence.

What was he considering?

“Tonight, I want the guided tour.” His voice had dropped an octave. “Put me on speaker, lay back, run your hands over your body, and tell me how every single bit of it feels.”

I set my phone aside. I’d never done anything like this before, but for him, I wanted to, and I wanted the moment to be perfect. “Where should I start?” I couldn’t hide the quiver in my voice.

“Over your top, your breasts. I want to hear your gasps as you tease yourself through the fabric.”

I glided my hands up my torso, the way he told me to, moaning when I brushed over the more erogenous bits.

“Fuck.” Owen’s voice an octave lower was even better. “Are your nipples hard? Tell me how it feels.”

Hesitation lodged my reply in my throat, but the compulsion to please Owen won out. I teased the nubs, my shirt rubbing against them and adding extra friction. “They rock hard. It feels so good.”

Good enough I kept playing. Moaning. Not trying to bite back any noises that wanted to slip from my throat.

“Top off,” Owen said.

I stripped off my cami. “Done.”

“I wish I was there. I can picture your gorgeous breasts. Pale skin. Delicious nipples. What it’s like to draw one into my mouth, and suck until you whimper.”

Memory mingled with now. “I’m licking one.” I pressed my breast up and flicked my tongue out. “And pinching.” Being in the moment made it easier to describe things. I rolled a nipple between my fingers, gasping with each touch. “It’s not as good as your mouth, though.”

Owen grunted. “God, I can almost taste you. I’m so hard right now. Keep playing, Kitty Cat.”
