The council rolls his eyes at this, unimpressed with Rhygel’s information. “Yes. What of it?”

“I watched him die. Ripped from his host body and burned to ash on the earth plane.”

The council member stepped back, unable to hide his shock any more. “That can’t be. How do you know this?”

“I watched it happen with my host’s eyes. She’s the one who yanked him out and held him earth-side until he was nothing. I heard his screams, his pleads for mercy. And I know you sent him. You sent him to start a mass casualty event. And you told the rest of the demons we slaughtered where to be and when to catch the souls you had murdered.”

Rhygel grows even larger and his voice fills the room with the promise of retribution. The truelesser onesrecognize it and quake before him.

One of them makes a dash for the back door. Malphas hops forward to catch him, but Rhygel stops him with a raised finger.

And I have to admit, I’ve never been with a male before, but I would let Rhygel bed me right then and there, so intoxicating was his power over us, over the demons who’d kept so many ensnared in a game they could never win.

“Did you also manipulate my host’s data to make sure she’d see it and bring me to the event?”

The council members who remain refuse to speak.

“Oh, come now,” I say. “No point in being coy. We’ve already got your pants around your ankles.”

Malphas lets out a low laugh.

“We made efforts to ensure you would be where we wanted you and when, yes.”

Barbas steps forward this time. “And does that include sending rival demons to dismantle our ward and break my brother’s body?”

The head member’s chin rises. “You all perform best under pressure. The more pressure, the better. It is known.”

It happens so fast I would have missed it if I weren’t glaring at the sonofabitch myself. Rhygel whips a wing out to the side and slashes forward, striking the head council member across the throat with his sharp fore-talon.

His eyes go wide. His hands almost reach to staunch the flow of blood, but they can’t make it there before the council member’s head rolls off his neck entirely.

And I’m rock hard.

It’s not the gore or blood that does it, I’m not that kind of monster.

It’s the power. Rhygel has always been the biggest, the strongest, among the four of us.

Now he’s finally sees he’s the strongest of us all. And I want nothing more than to let him bury his cock in me.

The rest of the council members scatter like roaches. Like the Tads and Chads and Brads of the earth plane. And we allow this. Because we’ve taken our prize.

The head of the highest among them.

Standingin front of the crowd of demons who’ve come to be judged, a value placed on their existence by the function they serve, we wait for their murmurs to die down.

A sea of faces, all of them tired and worried. All of them told for so long they only belonged if they proved it so.

“Fellow contenders,” Rhygel booms from the dais reserved for the council.

The crowd breaks into hissing and booing. And who can fault them? They don’t know how different their lives are about to be.

My leader silences them all as he holds the decapitated head of the councilman before them.

“Everything they told you, everything you’ve worked for, is a lie.”

After dismantling the council,we discover just how much energy the elites were hoarding. How much they throttled it to keep us compliant and reaping for them.

Like the offshore holdings in the elites of the human plane, the council stockpiled more than enough to keep our realm stable. More than enough for housing for everyone. Food for everyone.
