Her fingers loosen their grip, just slightly. But I keep my head back. I stare up the column of her throat, lock on to her pulse as it pounds beneath her ear, watch her swallow and drag in a deep breath. Her chin drops lower, lower. Our eyes meet. The tip of her nose brushes the bridge of mine. Lips lock and claim. Licking, sucking, consuming.

Bundling her in my arms, I harden my hold on her and rock my hips. She moans against my tongue, down my throat, and it’s a bolt of lightning to my cock.

Her fingers release my hair, ankles unhook behind me, and before I protest, she pushes me down into the mattress. Pins me, fingers digging into my skin. Grinds her hips, moves against and in time with me. Nipples pebbled. Jaw slack as soft whimpers spill from her lips. She tucks her chin, her hair falling forward and framing her face.

I bite my lower lip and groan as every nerve in my body sparks like heat lightning. The electrical current ebbs and flows. Fuses together. Slithers down my spine until it settles in my groin. Expands and pulses with each rock of her hips.

She buries her nails in my flesh as her body constricts. I flip her on to the mattress, lift her legs to rest on my shoulders, grip the back of her neck, and slam into her. Autumn tucks her lips between her teeth before turning her head and biting the pillow. One, two, three more thrusts and my vision hazes as I release. Ringing echoes in my ears as bright lights sparkle behind my lids when I slam them shut.

I release Autumn’s legs and press my weight into her. Kiss her fiercely as she combs her fingers through my hair. When I break the kiss, I press my forehead to hers and breathe her in.

“God, I love waking up with you in my arms,” I confess.

“Couldn’t agree more.” She brings a hand to my cheek and strokes her thumb over my stubble. “I don’t want to, but we should probably get up. Before Clementine.”

I sneak in one last kiss before leaving the comfort of the bed. Autumn sticks out her lower lip, pouting, and it is one of the cutest fucking things I have seen. She rolls on to her belly and groans into the pillow before reluctantly abandoning the bed.

“I want to take my girls out today,” I declare as I shrug a shirt on.

“Oh, yeah?”

“Yep. Don’t know where. Not sure what we’ll do. But we should make today adventurous.” Autumn giggles at my proclamation. “And cake should be involved more than once.”

“Cake?” Autumn’s eyes widen. “Clementine won’t disagree with you.”

“Lots of cake. We’ll call it a belated birthday celebration.”

Autumn freezes, hand hovering over the zipper of her jeans. “When was your birthday?” Her question comes out squeaky.

“Couple weeks back.” Autumn’s face pales as her eyes glaze over. I frame her face in my palms and shake my head. “No, scarlet. No tears. We will have plenty more birthdays to celebrate together. And I’m not upset. Just because we didn’t celebrate on the exact day doesn’t mean anything.”

Autumn works to blink away her tears before taking a deep breath. “I promise to make it up to you.”

I lean down and kiss her briefly, tenderly. “You being here, staying with me, has more than made up for missing the day.”

Just as Autumn opens her mouth to rebut, the soft sound of little feet padding on the floor, followed by a knock, halts any further conversation. Autumn pats her head in an effort to tame her sex hair before opening the door.

“‘Morning, pumpkin. We were just coming out to see if you were awake yet.”

Clementine hugs Autumn’s waist, then mine. “Sparty needs to go potty,” she says as she releases me and walks out of the room.

Just like that, our morning has officially begun. The three of us—plus Spartan—in the same space feelsnormal. And I love every second of it.

After our previous visit to Phillippe Park, Clementine immediately suggested us spending the day at a park. Although I love revisiting parks, I asked her permission to go to a different location since we were celebrating my birthday. When she cocked her head and pondered, it was the cutest thing ever. But she agreed with one condition.

We have lots of cake and ice cream.

Sold!

Foraging through the garage, I locate the cooler and carry it inside. Once we are ready to go, I toss the cooler in the back of the Jeep and we all pile in. On the way to the park, we stop at the grocery store and buy subs, drinks, snacks and a small bag of ice. With everything packed in the cooler, I drive us to a nature preserve at the northeast corner of the county.

Clementine kicks her feet while she sings along with the song on the radio. She sports a pair of black wingtip sunglasses and stares out the window at the passing scenery. The closer we get to the preserve, the less buildings we see. In our part of the state, most of the land is packed with streets, malls, shopping plazas, and homes. More concrete than trees. Thankfully, though, some beautiful stretches of land have been preserved.

As I steer the Jeep into the preserve, Clementine sits up straighter. Scans the land with curious eyes. “Is this the park?”

“Yep,” I say, turning down the music. “But this park is different than most parks by us.”
