"Well, he looks just like your brother." Another lie flies from my lips.

"Why are you calling me and telling me about this dream? Did is shake you that much or do you like this guy more than you can handle?" Jenna asks.

"Both. I had to tell someone mainly to try and get it out of my head," my hands tremble. "Have you ever had a dream like that?"

"Yeah, but it was about my husband," Jenna snickers. "I don't have dreams like that about him anymore. We have been married too long."

"Ha-ha, sounds like you need to spice things up."

"Yeah, maybe. What is this guy’s name?" Jenna questions.

"Oh, his name? Ummmm, his name is Steve." My voice cracks.

"I have to be straight with you right now, Aria. Something in your voice tells me you are full of shit. Is that the case?"

"No, not at all, Jenna. I guess maybe my emotions are at full steam over this dream. I have to get going. Sorry to bother you this morning. I just needed someone to talk to."

"Okay, well glad you called; I think? Talk soon." Jenna hangs up.

Ugh, Aria, you are so dumb. Jenna knows you are lying to her. She is not stupid.

During my entire day at work, the only thing on my mind was the dream about Eric. How he touched me and how he smelled was enough to send me over the edge. Trying to focus on work is nearly impossible.

After what seemed like a twenty-hour day, I arrive back at my apartment. A glass of wine sounds appealing. Tonight, I am pouring a full glass, not just a smidge.

Plopping down onto my couch and taking a sip of wine, I hear footsteps approaching my door. Could it be Eric? Please tell me it is!

To my disappointment upon opening my door, I see Jenna is standing there with a look on her face like she has come to prosecute me.

"Hey, come on in." I gesture to inside my apartment as my knees shake in fear.

Jenna sits down on my couch and stares at me. She is speechless, which makes my nerves heightened to the point I want to cry.

"What? What is that look for, Jenna?" I try to break the silence.

Jenna stays quiet and inspects my face.

I sit back and take a sip of wine and wait for her to speak.

"You know Aria, something seems really off with you. You are my best friend and I pray to God that you are not lying to me. But when you called me about your dream, there was something in your voice that told me you are hiding something. You are hiding something big, and I demand to know what that is."

"I am not lying to you intentionally. I have had a lot going on, and frankly we have not really talked much lately. I know you have been busy too."

"There is that. Are you sure there is not something you feel like you need to tell me?"

"I am sure, Jenna."

"How are things with my brother down the hall? Do you see him much?" Jenna stares into my eyes. It feels like her pupils may disintegrate mine with fire.

"They are okay. I see him around every so often. I think he works a lot and goes to the gym."

"So, you two have not really spent any time together?"

"Not really. I did the neighborly thing and took him a bottle of wine. We drank it together over some light conversation. That is about all."

"I want to believe you, Aria. Listen, Michael and I are having a dinner at the house on Thursday night. His friend Jordan will be joining us. Dinner is at six. See you there?" Jenna asks.

"Maybe. We will see how my day goes."

"That was not a question per se, Aria, it is a statement in which I expect you to be there. I think you and Jordan would click. He is super smart, fairly handsome, and has a great sense of humor. I will see you there!"

"Well, if you say so, Jenna. What can I bring?"

"A bottle of wine is perfect. I am making roast lamb so how about a nice bottle of red?" Jenna stands from my couch.

"Alright, a bottle of red it is. I will see you Thursday at six." I get up from my couch to walk her to the door.

"See you Thursday." Jenna leaves.

Jenna knows I am hiding something. Adding Michael's friend Jordan to the mix just puts the proof in the pudding. Jenna is trying to intercept Eric and me, or at least that is what my hunch tells me.
