"Oh, hey, Eric. Why did you not say hello walking behind me?"

"Because you hate my guts, which is why." He does not crack a smile.

Stopping dead in my tracks I turn to face him. "I spoke with Jenna. She admitted she lied to you. I am not speaking to her for a while. I am that mad."

"She admitted to lying. Wow! That is a first," Eric smirks.

"Yeah, and just so you know, I also told her that she is the reason you and I will never be together. She will always play her little games."

"So, you don't hate me anymore?" Eric grins.

"No, I never hated you, but we will not be together. Jenna also acknowledged that she feels us being together is weird for her. That tells me her games will never cease." I cross my arms.

"Eventually she will get bored and tired with the games. It may take a year or several, but eventually she will back off."

"I am not signing up for that, Eric. I am sorry."

"I understand Aria." Eric leans in to try and kiss me on the cheek.

Leaning back to dodge his kiss I say, "I am happy to give you a hug."

Eric opens his arms and flashes his beautiful hazel eyes at me.

I extend my arms to him, and the two of us embrace one another in a long hug.

Feeling his muscular chest against me makes my knees nearly give out. It is so damn hard to resist him, but I know I have no choice.

Eric nuzzles my cheek with his nose. This makes me want to kiss him, but I have to resist. The tension becomes so thick I realize I must end this amazing heartfelt hug.

Pushing Eric away from me, I can feel the tears well up in my eyes. Looking at him I say, "I have to go, Eric. Let's stay in touch."

I turn and walk away from him as my eyes begin to weep. My heart aches to have to make this choice. It seems so unfair.

"Stay in touch, Aria." I hear from behind me as I walk toward my door.

My days now consist of sobs, wine, and not speaking to Jenna or Eric. This has gone on for nearly two weeks.

To add to my distress, Jordan continues to call and text me. He does not seem to get the hint I am not interested, and in no way would I go out with him to spite Eric or to take Eric off of my mind.

After an exceptionally long day at work and countless hours in the courtroom with my boss, I return home wanting to just collapse on my couch.

While walking down the hall to my apartment, I can hear two voices around the corner: one is a male, and one is female. One voice sounds familiar to me. The other voice I cannot make out who it is.

To my complete shock, standing in front of Eric's door are Eric and some woman. They seem to be arguing, but I am not entirely sure.

Eric looks over at me, and his eyes become wide in fear of what I am witnessing.

My face turns to beet red in rage, and I refuse to look at him as I walk by.

"Aria! Wait, stop. I need to talk to you!" Eric hollers.

"Go fuck yourself, Eric." I slam my door shut.

The waterworks begin all over again. How could he already be with another woman? It has only been a few weeks! What a complete asshole.

Plopping onto my couch with a whole bottle of wine, I begin to chug the beverage straight from the bottle. Who cares about a glass!
