"I know. I do too. But at the end of the day, Jenna is going to have to accept this."

"Yes, or we decide to go our separate ways for good and avoid this mess," Aria sobs.

"No, that is not an option. Let's talk tonight, sound good?"

"Yeah, that works," Aria replies.

"Okay, how about we meet up here at six and then go to Canlis?"

"Sounds good, see you then." Aria hangs up.

After work, I freshen up for my date with Aria. Granted, this is more for the two of us to talk, but I always want to look good for her.

Aria and I meet in the hallway at six, and I drive us to the steakhouse. The ride in the car is so silent you could hear a pin drop. The only noise surrounding my car is the sound of horns and traffic. Aria remains quiet the entire ride making me uncomfortable.

Breaking the silence I ask Aria, "So, how was your day?"

"Fine. And yours?" Aria stares out the window.

"Not bad. I have been thinking a lot about this situation with my sister. It weighs heavy on my heart and mind. On the other hand, I am not willing to lose you to her and her childish games."

"Yeah, my heart has been heavy all day. I am torn by all of this, Eric."

"I know, I am too."

Upon arriving at the steakhouse and parking my car, I open the door for Aria like a gentleman.

When she steps out of my car, our eyes meet, and the passion is evident between both of us. Her eyes look like angels. The blue glistens like crystals.

Not able to withstand how I feel, I lean in and give Aria a long soft kiss. She returns the kiss, and we both wrap our arms around one another. After exchanging the sultry kiss, the two of us proceed inside the restaurant, where the host seats us.

"Wow, this is a nice place. I love the table they gave us." Aria smiles.

"Yeah, I like this place. The ambiance is outstanding."

The server approaches, "Good evening, what can I get you both to drink?"

"I would like a glass of your house chard please," Aria replies.

"Same for me, except let’s make it a bottle of your finest chard rather than a glass of the house wine."

The server walks away, and Aria stares into my eyes, "Eric, this is all so hard. I wish Jenna would accept you and I and how we feel for one another."

"I know. Here is where I am at with all of this. Jenna eventually will come to terms with this. If she does not, then it is her loss. I have come to have so many intense feelings for you, I refuse to let you go."

"I have the same feelings for you, Eric. You are the man I have always wanted in my life. It is so unfortunate Jenna is acting this way."

"The secret is out with my sister. But maybe we need to try and keep it under wraps a bit more with her until this all settles?" I take a sip of the wine the server had brought.

"I hate having to hide this from her. It makes me feel dishonest. I am not one for secrets. Jenna knows about us, why hide it anymore?"

"I am not saying hide it, but maybe just keep it more casual in her eyes?"

"I refuse to live a lie, Eric. That is not how I operate."

"I agree, but let's keep things dialed down for a bit until she calms down. Let time heal this wound with her and maybe, just maybe, with time, she will accept us."

The server returns to take our order. Aria and I both order the house ribeye special.
