"Aria, we have to get going, we have a case starting in forty-five minutes." David lightly grabs Aria's arm.

"Wait, can I talk to you really quick, Aria?" I jump in.

"We really must go, Eric. I am sorry," Aria's eyes appear like she wants to cry.

"Aria, I can't live without you! I am sorry to do this in front of your boss. You need to know how miserable I am without you. I miss your kiss, your touch, your company. I miss everything about you."

"Eric! Stop. You are embarrassing me. This is not the time nor place!" Aria's voice gets louder.

"Well, you won't return my calls or texts, so how else am I supposed to tell you how I feel. I am sorry that your boss is standing right here. Which by the way, thank God he is your boss. Had he been your boyfriend, this conversation would not have gone so well."

"I think the two of you need to talk, Aria." David looks Aria in the eyes.

"But we need to go, David."

"Take a few moments privately, then we do need to get going. I will wait over by the car for you." David reaches to shake my hand, "Nice to meet you, Eric."

"Nice to meet you too, David.” I shake his hand.

"You have completely lost your mind saying that in front of my boss!" Aria whispers in anger.

"What else was I supposed to do, Aria? I need you to understand how I feel, and you will not speak to me."

"This is not the time and place, Eric. I am completely embarrassed by you saying that in front of my boss." Aria squints at me in anger.

"I am sorry to embarrass you. You don't seem to get it, do you?"

"Get what? That your sister has destroyed us being together and we will never be able to. Is that what you are referring to?" Aria folds her arms across her chest.

"Yes, and the fact that neither of us is happy now."

"Oh, you have no idea how my heart has been torn to shreds because of all of this, Eric. I have spent countless hours crying over you. I miss you too, but I refuse to let Jenna keep acting the way she has. When she pushed me that night in the hallway, that was my breaking point."

"I have not spoken to Jenna since that night. I refuse to respond to her. I am beyond angry with her. I want nothing to do with her anymore," I say, my voice cracking.

"You haven’t?" Aria takes a step back.

"No, not one word. I did meet with Michael the other night and asked him to speak to Jenna. Maybe he can get through her thick skull to let this all go, and you and I can get back together."

"I don't know, Eric. This all has been too much for me to take. I have never felt such heartbreak in my life." Aria's lips tremble.

"Aria, do you still love me?"

"I do, I still love you." A tear runs down her cheek.

"Then why not give this a chance? I love you, Aria."

"Let me think over this please. This is a lot to process. I need to get going before I make David late for court. Can I call you in a few days?"

"Yes, please do. I love you." I lean in and kiss her on the cheek.

Aria grabs her cheek where I kissed her and holds her hand steady. "I miss your kisses," she smiles.

"I miss everything about you. Please call me soon, okay?"

"Yes." Aria walks towards David's car.

I stand still and watch Aria walk to David's car. Watching her butt shake as she struts is sexy. Not to mention her long locks of red hair bounce with each step. There is not one thing about her I am not attracted to. I can only pray she calls me, and we can talk about our future. A future without my sister in the middle of us.
