Aiden tells me it takes about an hour from the office to get to his place. But I left midmorning, exploring a little before meeting him at two.
This is the third time I’ve left Atlanta since I arrived, but so far, I haven’t had a chance to take in the scenery. Somebody else was always driving, engaging me in a conversation. It would have been rude to be gaping out the window.
So driving on my own is much better. I stop wherever I want at lookouts or any other spots that allow me to pull over and admire the beauty surrounding me, and every time, I’m reminded of why I love the mountains so much.
They look different from the Austrian Alps here, but I’ve fallen in love with them all the same, their peace and serenity calling me. I spent nearly an hour at the first lookout I stopped at, just staring at the view, gobsmacked at how beautiful everything is. My soul let out a long-held breath.
I can already see many weekends here hiking and exploring. And once I get a little money together, I will definitely move into the mountain area as well.
I pull up at Aiden’s house half an hour earlier than I expected, but he told me he’d be home all day. I’m sure he won’t mind.
As I get out of the car, my mind is racing faster than my heart. That’s quite an achievement.
After Aiden dropped me off at my apartment last night, he’s been all I could think about. That kiss… it’s seared in my mind and in my heart, maybe even in my soul… or am I being too dramatic? In any case, it’s been playing on repeat in my mind.
I tossed and turned thinking about his words.There will be no hanky-panky until I know what I want.
But I do know. I want him… but I’m no good for him. It’s for his own good that I don’t give in to my desires. But we can still hang out together as friends, right?
When I ring Aiden’s doorbell, there is no answer. Loud music is blaring from inside. He probably didn’t hear it. I ring it again and knock on the door. When he finally opens it, my jaw drops.
This is torture!
Aiden is barefoot and clad in only sweatpants. He looks edible. Who the hell looks hot in sweats? Aiden does! And it only improves as I let my gaze travel upward.
A towel is slung around his shoulders, sweat still glistening on his chest. The contours of his shoulders, arms, chest, and stomach are on perfect display.
Lord have mercy!
I swallow hard as I take him in. Did I say earlier my mind was racing faster than my heart? Well, it’s definitely the other way around now. My insides clench and my pussy weeps with joy. No, make that frustration… because it won’t get any action tonight. God, how I hate that.
“For heaven’s sake,Ade,” I exclaim, gesturing at his body. “There’s only so much I can take.”
“Well, I hope you reach breaking point soon. I know I’m close,” he jokes… or maybe he’s speaking the truth, if his facial expression is anything to go by as he appreciatively lets his gaze wander over me. I’m wearing nothing special; yoga pants and a long sleeve shirt in preparation for the self-defense class later on.
“You’re not playing fair,” I mutter as I step into the house.
“Never said I would.” He smirks.
“Now go and put on a shirt,” I say in my sternest voice.
What am I saying? It would be an atrocity to hide away so much male beauty. But while my eyes feast, my girly parts weep. Covering him up really is for the best.
“You know, I normally would be showered and dressed, but you’re early. I was still working out.”
“The plank workout thing?” I ask, my eyes lighting up, making him laugh.
“No. Just weights today.” Shame, I really would have enjoyed a private show.
“Sorry, I’m a little early. I can go out for another half hour so you can get ready.”
Aiden looks at me as if I have lost my mind. I might have. But is that any wonder under the circumstances.
“Don’t be silly. Why don’t you make yourself comfortable out on the terrace and enjoy the view. Once I’m dressed, I’ll give you a tour of the house. For your information, I will need to first undress in order to change clothes.”
I groan inwardly. “Thanks. I didn’t need to be reminded of that. Besides, you could just pull on a shirt.”
“I need to shower first.” He winks as he leads me outside onto the deck.
