“So, can you see that the three of us were always meant to meet and be together again?” Neither Tiero nor Aiden reply.

The concept might be easier for Aiden to accept with his spiritual experience, but Tiero? He’s a black and white kind of man who doesn’t think too deeply about life’s mysteries. He decides and acts on the face value of things.

He lets go of my hand to run it through his hair and rub his neck, before crossing his arms over his body. My focus is on him now.

“Tiero, this must be why I can feel you long before I see you. And I know it’s the same for you. When we first met and our eyes connected, time stood still, and I was being sucked into the outer reaches of the universe, where everything I knew up to that point was dismantled and reassembled. My soul recognized you.”Tiero looks puzzled but also, somehow, more at peace. It looks good on him.

Next to me, Aiden swallows hard, and my eyes connect with his. There is so much warmth there. “And it was the same with you, Aiden. That day we met, I was convinced Tiero had found me because my body felt him, or so I thought… but you know that already.”

Aiden squeezes my hand in silent support, his gaze fixed on me, drawing me into his depth just like he always does. Then his eyes travel slowly to Tiero’s, and I watch as the two men stare at each other.

What do they feel for each other? And would they admit to it?

The animosity between them has disappeared for the moment, and a sense of unity and belonging fills everything around us.

Nobody speaks. I reach for Tiero’s hand again and squeeze it lovingly.

Through me, we’re connected again, and I close my eyes, enjoying the buzz of that current.

What would happen if the guys were touching? If they were holding hands too and closed this open circle? But my gut tells me it would push Tiero too far and possibly Aiden as well. They’re not at that point yet and might never be.

“I’m curious. If I can sense both of you whenever we’re close, and you both can sense me. Does that mean you can sense each other?”

Chapter Forty

Ella

Tierodropsmyhandand gets off the bed. Crossing his arms, he glares at me.

I don’t think he’s angry, though. I can tell by the way he rubs his fingers together, he’s uncomfortable, not enraged.

He looks away from us, moving his jaw from side to side. “At the Grand Prix earlier today, I expected to see you, Ella. My gut said you were near. Just…” He doesn’t finish the sentence, not wanting to admit the truth.

So I do it for him. “Just that it wasn’t me you saw. It was Aiden, wasn’t it?”

He nods curtly. “It confused the hell out of me. Still does. It’s like I’m in some fantasy book.”

I don’t respond, not wanting to make Tiero more unnerved. Admitting as much as he did is unexpected. Being the alpha that he is, feeling anything for a man, even if only platonic, would rattle him.

I let my gaze travel to Aiden. Cocking my head to the side, I wait for him to speak. He clears his throat, squaring his shoulders.

“I don’t get the same heat and tingling sensations as you, Ella. It’s more a sense of knowing… and I get this weird buzzing in my ears. I had it today at the racetrack, but I dismissed it. I figured all the over-the-top noise could have caused it. But it happened again earlier.

“And despite never having met you, De Marco, there is something familiar about you… and to be honest, I don’t like it.”

They enter another stare off, Tiero grinning at Aiden condescendingly.

Oh god, this is going to get out of hand again.

I feel my temperature rising as the last of the warm and fuzzy I experienced before this conversation evaporates into thin air.

Before this can escalate again, we’re saved by a knock on the door.

Tiero narrows his eyes at Aiden before turning and leaving the bedroom to let in whoever is outside.

Aiden takes my hand into his again, worriedly studying my face. “You okay, lucida?”

I shake my head. “How could I be? Shit is hitting the fan. We’re outnumbered, and I’m stressing out so much that he’s going to hurt you that I’m fainting.”
