“So… with you being a beer expert, I bet you have plenty of beer-related random facts. Hit me with them,” I challenge.

He grins at me and leans forward, resting his forearms on his knees.

God help me, those arms are magnificent.

All I want to do is touch and run my fingers up and down those muscles and squeeze them.

“Cenosillicaphobia,” he says in a conspirator voice. “It’s the fear of an empty glass.”

I laugh. I didn’t expect that one. “Do you suffer from it? Should I check if they keep the fridge well-stocked on this private plane?”

“No, I’m good. Thank you. I don’t actually drink that much. Quality over quantity is my motto.”

I’m glad to hear that. It would be all too easy for people with his background to reach for a bottle to numb the pain.

I search my memory bank for some useless facts to keep playing along with this game. “Oh… I’ve got one!” I exclaim.

“Go for it.” Aiden’s eyes sparkle with mirth.

I lean forward, mimicking his posture. “Hangoverin Norwegian is directly translated tocarpenters in the head.”

His brow shoots up. “Do you speak Norwegian?”

“No, but I met a Norwegian on our Scotland trip. He told me. Have you tried Lex’s hangover alien drink? It cures everything.”

Aiden moves his head even closer. I like this game. “I’ve never needed it.”

“What?!” I sit up, putting my hands on my hips. “You’ve never been drunk?”

“Not in recent years.” Aiden laughs. “I like staying in control of my faculties.”

“Then never let Lex take you whiskey tasting in Scotland… or anywhere else for that matter,” I joke… though, it is true.

“How often have you been to Scotland?” Aiden asks.

“Only that one time. It’s magnificent, but the weather? How do people cope with so much rain?”

“Yeah, I couldn’t live there.” He puts on an exaggerated shudder, making me giggle.

Really, Ella? Do you have to behave like a schoolgirl with a crush?

“When did you go to Scotland?” I ask to distract myself.

“Two years ago. Ethan and I had a job in Edinburgh and afterward traveled through the Highlands.”

“No way. Perhaps we were there at the same time. Maybe we passed each other.”

“I don’t think so,” he’s quick to reply.

“Why not?” I frown. It’s entirely possible.

“You would have always stood out to me,” he says without hesitation. My mouth falls open.

Boom, boom, boomgoes my heart loudly in my ears.

Scoop me up from my puddle.

I’ve just melted like a snowman, or in my case a snowwoman in the desert.
