“If you say so.” She laughed. “I haven’t feltse-xyin years.”

“Let’s share a glass of wine while I admire you some more.”

“Just a finger, please. I have to work.”

He poured a small amount into her glass and doubled it in his. “To my sexy girlfriend.” He raised his glass and clinked it against hers.

Not sure how to answer, she opened her eyes wide.

“Aren’t you returning my toast? Something like, ‘To my sexy boyfriend’?”

She giggled. “Okay, to my handsome, attractive, and wonderful boyfriend.” She guzzled her wine, hoping for some bravado.

He sipped his slowly. “Thank you, babe.” He set his glass and hers on the dresser and gathered her in his arms for a deep kiss that scorched her all the way to her toes. Moist kisses trailed on her cheek to her ear and throat. Her straps glided down her arms and the rest of the silk swished to the floor.

He eased her away, scanning every inch of her body with a burning gaze. “You have a figure to damn a saint.” He buried his lips in the valley between her breasts and unclasped the bra, squeezing and kneading, laving and sucking.

On fire for him, she stroked his back, his shoulders, and his chest, teasing his nipples with her fingertips and nails.

He swept her up into his arms and carried her to the middle of his bed, dropping her gently. “You’re even more beautiful without a bra.” This man knew how to make her blush. “Your panties are lovely, but I bet you’d be lovelier without them.”

He crouched on the bed, peeling away the red piece of lace. He bent, gliding his lips in fiery kisses over the skin he’d uncovered, all the way to her ankles, until her discarded shorts lay on the bed. Slowly retracing his path, he stopped at the wedge between her thighs and lavished her with caresses and kisses. Unable to withstand the excitement, she moaned and wriggled, trying to reach his erection.

He kept tormenting her with more passion until she shuddered and screamed, “I love you, Tim.”

He protected himself, then gathered her into his arms, kissing her and thrusting into her. Soon, they both reached their peaks and convulsed together.

“I love you, Erin. My one and only.” She stayed in his arms and slept, a smile on her lips and happiness flooding her heart.

Chapter Sixteen

July

The week whizzed by in the blink of an eye with Erin’s time neatly organized—the mornings at the pool and the afternoon on the patio with the children and Tim, the evenings in Tim’s arms, enjoying his love and torrid sex, and night shifts at work, followed by a few hours of sleep with Tim.

Every evening and morning, Tim repeated he loved her and couldn’t live without her.

The children were delighted by their days at the Swim Club.

As for Teresa, she often sang in the kitchen. According to her, Russell was the perfect gentleman and a fun companion. She’d cooked for him three times, and he’d invited her to great restaurants on the other days.

Life couldn’t be better.

On Monday, camp started for the children. True to his word, Tim drove David to Camp Rock and the twins to their daycare. Erin worked evening shifts for the rest of the month and dropped the four girls at Camp Fun.

After loading several baskets of laundry into the washer, she called a real estate agent and explained her requirements and price range. The agent called her back two hours later and set up an appointment for the next day. At three, Erin picked up the twins, gave them a snack and played with them, then left them under Teresa’s care and headed to the hospital for her evening shift. Tim brought back the other kids at five, and Teresa took charge of dinner and bedtime.

For the rest of the week, Erin spent her mornings visiting houses and didn’t like any, but the real estate agent, Josie Jould, an amiable woman in her forties assured her she would eventually find her the ideal house.

After a day of separation, Tim protested and insisted she should return from work to his house for some quality private time. With the children sleeping anyway, she immediately agreed. Spending time with Tim allowed her to relate the frustrations of her house hunting and discuss the various houses she’d seen, before melting against his rock-hard body and collecting her share of soul-melting kisses, and later sleeping snuggled in his arms.

Two weeks later, Erin almost hit her head against the wall in frustration. She’d visited many houses for sale in the neighborhoods of Montgomery, Kenwood, and Blue Ash, all three close enough to her hospital and Tim’s house. “Frankly, I didn’t fall in love with any of the houses.”

“Ask your agent to extend the search to houses outside your price range.”

“What’s the use if they’re too expensive?”

“Maybe you can bargain the price if you find something you like. At least, you’ll have a point for comparison.”
