He handed Tanith a business card, then cast a wary glance Blake’s way as he scooted around them and hurried out of the alley. Tanith watched him go, noting that a few of the bear shifters had congregated across the street, watching with their arms crossed, perhaps having detected Judd’s scent. In that moment, it was comforting to know that not only did she have the best protector, lover, and friend in the world beside her, but she had a whole clan watching her back too.

“Blake…” She whirled around and threw her arms around his neck. “I don’t know how to thank you. For everything you’ve done for me. I just—”

“Thank me by loving me,” he rumbled in her ear, hugging her tight. “It’s how I thank you every day for being who you are, exactly as you are.”

Tears rolled down her cheeks again, and she wiped them on his shirt, laughing.

“I’ll do my best.”

“That’s all I’ll ever ask, sweetheart.” He kissed her head, her temple, then tipped her back and claimed her lips. And just like that, her worries, her cares, her stressors all melted away.

Tanith finally had her clean slate.

And she was ready to start sketching her and Blake’s new tomorrow—today.
