He kissed her lightly. “It’s more important this time,” he said. “We both know that.”

She nodded her head but didn’t say another word.

He’d have to take it.

More Shaken

It’d been two days since she’d stripped and done the dirty deed with Ren in his rented house.

She was kind of a neat freak when it came to germs.

More so because of the kids.

When she got home one of the first things she thought of was how many people had sat on that rented couch that touched Ren’s naked ass. Thankfully it was his and not hers.

She almost made a comment to him about it but stopped herself.

Emotionally she was more shaken than she’d thought she’d be.

But Ren did and said all the right things, which shocked her.

It seemed in the past she was the one that had that role. This time it was him.

They hadn’t talked after she left on Sunday. She needed time to think. They’d spent a lot of time together over the weekend.

All good time. All positive things.

Their families knew, for the most part.

She realized later that he never said if he told Colin and Dee. She wanted to know but didn’t know how to ask either.

There was a part of her that wasn’t sure why it was so important to her that he’d tell them. He’d told his mother.

But he wasn’t as close to his mother as he was to his best friends.

She hadn’t told her parents, but in her eyes that was different.

She’d put it on the backburner and went to bed. Monday morning came and she didn’t see Ren. He stopped in when she was talking to another mother. He was earlier than normal, as he’d said he’d be. She noticed his car leaving after she’d heard Max yell when he saw her.

She was going to have to keep a little distance from him before he got too used to her. Or only wanting her.

No reason any of her employees had to know just yet. It wasn’t a secret, as she’d told Zane, but she wasn’t announcing anything.

Though she did text both Rose and Poppy and filled them in. Rose didn’t ask about the sex. Poppy did. She was honest. Poppy was the fun one of the three sisters and Zara felt a connection to her at times that she didn’t to the others.

She found in her life there was a need for them and she knew who to go to when it was that time. She was slightly jealous the three of them not only had each other but her niece now too and had to get over it.

At five, Ren came in to get Max and she saw him and they talked for a few minutes, but again, another parent came in late and wanted to talk and she had to divide her attention like always.

That night, they’d talked on the phone but not much more. She assumed he was playing catch-up with work.

This morning, she’d been looking for him, got to go say hi, share a smile and a wink and take Max out of his arms.

She wasn’t going to be bothered they didn’t talk during the day. She didn’t have the time and was positive he didn’t either.

They’d have to figure out a routine and get through it.
