“Perfect,” said Giselle, who brushed past them to take the lead.

Asher and Blaze gave each other bemused looks as they followed after her. It was kind of a gift, really, because the two of them got to enjoy watching her from behind. That little black sundress clung to her every curve as she walked, her hips swaying with every step. Her curvy ass jiggled underneath the black fabric, and Blaze longed to tear it away and reveal her perfect, nubile body to the golden sun. She led them down the walkway to the sand, her wedges sinking every step she took, but she was committed to the look. Asher and Blaze walked barefoot behind her, while Giselle made the trek look both glamorous and a little wobbly.

“You can take the shoes off, you know,” Blaze remarked.

“Stop trying to get me to take my clothes off,” she shot back, with mock indignation. She crouched down to lay out her towel in the sand, and the boys followed suit.

Asher plopped down the cooler and got to work setting up the gigantic umbrella. Blaze rolled out his towel next to Giselle’s and began peeling off his own clothes. He took off his white t-shirt to show off the hard, rippling muscle underneath. He rolled the shirt up to use as a makeshift pillow when he stretched out on the towel. Immediately a shadow came washing over him and he looked up to see Giselle slowly taking off her sun dress.

Blaze and Asher stopped what they were doing to stare at her. She grabbed the hem of her dress and rolled it up, easily sweeping it up over her head and dropping it on the towel next to her. Blaze’s heart started racing and the adrenaline pumped through his veins at the sight of her exposed body. Now, she wore only a sleek black bikini, and it did very little to hide anything. Asher was equally stunned, just going through the motions of arranging the cooler while he drooled over her. Blaze hoped no one could see the hearts bursting from his eyes behind his shades. He didn’t know how it was possible that she seemed to get more beautiful by the day. The longer he knew her, the harder it was to pretend he wasn’t into her.

The bikini bottom was fighting to stay in place with Giselle’s juicy ass filling it out. The cut of the fabric exposed her entire thighs and most of her hips, with only a thin strap holding it all together. The ties at her hips made Blaze’s fingertips itch. He wanted to pull those strings and let the bikini bottom slip to the sandy ground. He longed to run his fingers underneath the elastic band at her inner thighs. He wanted to caress her pussy through the slick fabric, then slide his hands around to grope her backside right there in front of everyone at Paradise Cove.

Blaze wanted to grab her around her narrow waist and lie her down in the sand. He could imagine his lips trailing along the taut, flat line of her stomach. Maybe she would shiver with ticklishness. Maybe she would whimper his name. He thought about running his palms over her tits, feeling the swell and weight of them in his hands. He imagined reaching around to untie the knot at her back and let the top come tumbling away. Blaze could bury his face in those perfect breasts forever, happy as a clam.

But he had to shake himself back to reality. Giselle wasn’t his girlfriend. This was not a date, despite the fluttery, lustful feelings stoked up inside of him. This was a professional meetup, even if his client was barely clothed and everything he had ever dreamed of.

Giselle sat back down on the towel, drawing her knees to her chest as she reached for the cooler. “What have we got in here, Asher?” she asked.

He nearly fumbled over himself to help her. “So, there are bottles of water—still and sparkling. Some fresh juice from the health food shop down the street from me, plus some strawberries and watermelon slices from the farmer’s market.”

“Wow, you are so prepared,” she commented. “I don’t know why I expected any different, though. You always understand the assignment.”

Asher was positively beaming from the positive attention, and Blaze found himself eager for that attention, too. Again, he found it a little odd not to feel a single tinge of envy, but Asher didn’t evoke anything of the sort in him. Not even when he hand-fed her a strawberry, and Blaze watched the sweet red juice stain her plush lips and drip down her chin. Blaze couldn’t stop himself before he reached out to dab it away from her face with his hand. As soon as his fingers brushed against her bottom lip, he saw her big brown eyes roll toward him behind her shades. Their eyes locked, his fingers froze in place, and for a few moments, the world seemed to fall away to nothing while she looked at him. Slowly, he pulled his hand back.

Giselle’s eyes raked over his naked torso, and then she turned to Asher, who was also pulling off his shirt. Blaze was mildly surprised to see that Asher was nearly as well-built as he was. There were muscles hiding underneath that academic, buttoned-up facade.

“I don’t know why, but I totally didn’t expect you guys to have tattoos,” Giselle said.

“I didn’t expect you to be able to go into the sun without bursting into flames,” Blaze teased. She chuckled and nudged him with her elbow.

“Yeah, yeah, I’m pale. I know it. But what’s a goth chick to do in sunny California? I burn like a honeybun,” she laughed.

“That reminds me,” Asher said, digging through the tote bag. He held up a bottle of sunscreen and squirted some into his palm. “I can help with that.”

That smooth bastard, Blaze thought as he watched Asher massage SPF lotion into Giselle’s bare, milky skin. He rubbed her back as he did so, making her tilt her head back and moan with delight. Blaze caught another flash of what could be—Giselle in that same position, letting her hair fall back as she trembled with pleasure. He could make her feel so good. He wondered what she would sound like when she came.

But he quickly shoved that thought back down. After all, he was wearing swim boxers. The last thing he needed was for Giselle or Asher to notice the bulge growing at his crotch. The lovely morning stretched lazily into afternoon as the three of them soaked up the sun. They ate fruit, stayed hydrated, and chatted about everything and nothing. Blaze was surprised to find her in a great mood. She played along with his teasing instead of bristling up like she did at first. She was receptive to Asher’s spiritual way of finding inspiration. Even when he urged her to get up and try a little surf lesson (with Asher as her guide), she didn’t balk.

Blaze enjoyed the hell out of watching her attempt to balance on a surfboard, getting dunked under the waves again and again, only to pop out again, laughing and spewing seawater. Every time she crested from the shallows, Blaze thought she looked like a mermaid. Her black braids flowed out behind her in the water, then stuck flat to her skin when she emerged. Her big brown eyes were bright even as she squinted in the sun, and Blaze loved the way her lashes stood out, wet with the ocean. Asher was fully in his element, riding the waves like a true professional. After a while, Giselle gave up on learning his trade and came dripping back to their spot. She dropped down on the towel next to Blaze, her chest heaving up and down with effort. Crystalline ocean water beaded along her skin, and Blaze itched to lick the salty drops away with his tongue.

“I’m almost a pro surfer now,” Giselle joked as she reached for a bottle of water.

“Oh yeah, I saw you in action,” Blaze replied with a smirk.

“Impressed?” she said, flipping her braids over her shoulders.

Blaze chuckled. “Actually, yes.”

“Really? I was terrible out there,” she laughed.

“Oh, the surfing? Yeah. You have the balance of a newborn giraffe on ice,” he needled her. “But you’re giving it a real chance. You’re trying. I can tell.”

“Well, don’t go telling people about it. I have a reputation to uphold. If people find out how surfer-chill I am, how can I maintain my reputation as a total brat?” she pointed out.

“You’re very self-aware for an LA diva,” he said.

“I learned it back before I was an LA girl,” she went on, her eyes watching Asher ride the waves. “I had a whole different life before I moved here.”
