Jimmy nodded. “Yep. The head honcho himself. He’s a very busy man; I’m sure he probably has back-to-back meetings all day in this boardroom. We’re not supposed to go in until we’re all here, but…” He shrugged.

“Shit, Giselle is going to be pissed if we start without her,” Matt pointed out.

“Or she’ll be relieved we took the meeting for her,” Jimmy mused.

Blaze laughed. “You guys make her sound like a real wild card.”

“Yes,” Jimmy said, as though he’d never heard a truer description. “That’s exactly it.”

Just that moment, a beam of bright sunshine flooded into the lobby, making Blaze squint. The entrance doors had swung open, and now there was a petite, slender figure silhouetted in the light. As the doors shut again, Blaze blinked the approaching woman into view.

Despite his usual cool, unflappable demeanor, his jaw dropped at the sight of her.
