Brina:Murphy and I are doing early Thanksgiving at Coach’s, then we have to go to the country club to sit down with my parents.

Brady:Nattie and I told my mom we’d be there for dessert.

Belle:You people better be hungry for dessert or plan on taking some home with you. I bought out Amelia’s store.

Murphy:Got any of those cookies for Rocky? Apparently, pregnant dogs like cookies the same way pregnant women do.

Belle:She’s pregnant?

Nattie:Yup. The Pug next door knocked her up. Rocky’s a hussy!

Brina:You gotta google a Pug & Bull Dog mix. They’re the cutest things.

Chloe:OMG! They’re sooo cute! They call them BUGS. A Bulldog Pug mix is a BUG! I want one.

Chloe:Hey - How come you can get out of dinner with the folks, but I’m stuck with them?

Brady:Sucks to be you.

Coop:I miss you guys.

Nattie:Three more weeks until you’re home, Coop! Counting down the days.

Coop:Happy Thanksgiving, guys.

When Tommy, Belle, and I walk into my father’s house, we’re greeted by complete chaos. Rocky’s running in circles until she sees Tommy and makes a beeline directly for him. He drops to the floor, and Rocky falls into his lap. She lays her head on his leg and happily whines while Tommy scratches her ears.

Nattie’s in the family room, yelling at Bash, “Put Brady down. If you break him, I’ll be so mad at you, Sebastian Beneventi.”

Bash has Brady raised over his head in a deadlift.

“Who’s stronger, QB?” Bash taunts.

Luckily for Brady, Dad walks into the room. “Put him down, Sebastian. He’s fragile.”

“Dad,” Nattie whines while everyone but Brady laughs.

Belle pulls on my arm, dragging me into the kitchen, causing me to miss what happens next.

These guys are better than reality TV some days.

Katherine is yelling at Murphy, who’s checking the turkey in the oven. “Leave the oven closed. You’re letting the moisture out every time you open it, Aiden.”

“I know what I’m doing, Mom. I’ve been binging the Food Network all week,” Murph answers as he pours a box of chicken stock over the biggest turkey I’ve ever seen.

“He really has. I swear I’ve gained ten pounds just watching TV with him.” Brina flips a page in the bridal magazine she and Carys are looking at while they sit at the kitchen table, discussing wedding flowers.

Belle places her desserts on the island that’s already covered in appetizers and cookies. She takes the bag from me and adds them to the growing array of snacks and sweets.

Complete chaos. Any other time in any other place with any other people, this would be my worst nightmare. But in this house with these people... I love it.

When Katherine turns around, I wrap my arms around her. “Smells fantastic, Katherine. Thanks for having us.”

“Don’t tell her, tell me,” Murphy yells indignantly. “I got here at the asscrack of dawn to stuff and cook a thirty-pound turkey. Mom likes to try to tell me what to do, but I’m the expert.” When Murphy turns around, I do a double take.

“What the hell are you wearing, man?” His apron is brown with a colorful turkey on the front holding a whisk like a microphone and singing “Pour Some Gravy On Me.”

“Back off, Dec. You’re just jealous of my apron.” He pulls it out for me to see it better as if that were the problem.
