George Tremblay agrees and adds, “Don’t let this world touch her.”

“Done.”

After having Tremblay escorted out of the house and giving instructions to my men on where to take him, I call Dean and fill him in on everything that just went down.

“She really kneed him in the nuts then cracked him in the head with the butt of her gun?” Dean whistles. “Damn, Sammy boy. Remind me not to ever piss your woman off. She’s lethal. Not that we didn’t know that already. But seriously, guard your balls when you come home late.”

“Thanks, asshole. I’ll try to remember that. So, Nick’s taken care of?”

A car door slams shut on Dean’s end, and the engine roars to life. Guess Dean got his car back from Bash. “Yeah. That’s handled. They’ll find him at some point tomorrow. Everyone will know he was a traitor.”

“We’ll announce your new position as underboss at Tribute this week. Let me know who you think can step up and take over your crew. We’ll need to figure out who’s the best fit for my advisor without Nick here now.” My head hurts just thinking about it.

“Yeah. I gotcha. Want to go over it tomorrow?”

We’re going to have to deal with this sooner rather than later, but... “Not tomorrow. Let’s do it Monday. I’ve got some things I need to do tomorrow.”

“Sounds good, boss. Talk later.”

I end the call and look around the room.

It’s time to make some changes.

In this room.

In this house.

With my life.
