His lips lifted into a smile. “I was wondering how long it would take you to notice.”

“You’re touching me, and I’m not getting a vision.” I couldn’t believe my eyes. Grabbing his wrist, I yanked him closer, and pressed his palm to my cheek. I could still feel the faint buzz of magic in my system, but it wasn’t a vision. It was just…there.

“You okay?” Jackson asked, brushing his thumb back and forth across my skin.

Instead of answering, my hands hit his shoulders, and my weight knocked him flat to the ground, pinning him beneath me. “Finally!”

“Ouch.” He groaned, but I silenced him with a kiss. His fingers dug into my hips. “Rebekah, Stop.”

I lifted my weight from his chest. “I’m sorry, did I hurt you?”

“No,” he said. “I just…. there’s blood on this floor. Wouldn’t you rather go upstairs and use the bed?”

“Somebody’s feeling cheeky.” I gave his lips another peck and stood up, moving towards the door.“Are you just gonna lay there all day?”

“Really?” His eyes narrowed. “Is that how you wanna play it?”

I turned the door handle and put one foot in the library. “Catch me if you can.”

Darting away, I heard him laughing. I circled one of the shelves and he slid into view a few seconds behind me. “You’re gonna have to run faster than that if you want to get away from me.”

I smiled and rounded another corner, aiming for the exit. My hand reached for the blue door, and then suddenly the world was a blur. Jackson whipped me around by the shoulders and my back smacked into the wood. I gasped, and his mouth was on mine. His hands slid up my sides, and I caught his face between my palms.

My skin set fire. I clawed at his chest, his back, his shoulders. I couldn’t get close enough. His kiss trailed from my lips, along my jaw.

He groaned. “I love you.”

“I love you, too,” I whispered, guiding him back to my lips.

His nose skimmed mine. “If I kiss you again, we won’t make it to the bedroom.”

“Screw the bedroom.” I pushed my hands under his shirt, and scratched my nails over his abs. “Right here is fine.”

He shivered against me, and grabbed behind my right knee, hitching it around his hip. “Oh, really? Right here against the door?”

“Right now I’d be happy with the floor.”

His lips lifted into a wicked smile. “You want me that bad?”

“You have no idea.”

He swept my other leg up off the ground and lifted me into his arms. “But I think I can do one better than the door and a lot better than the floor.”

He kissed me and started walking back into the library. He turned a corner, and suddenly I was sitting on the edge of the table.

I hummed against his lips. “Good idea.”

“I’m glad you approve.”

My hands slid down his chest and I rucked his shirt up over his head. I took in the sight of him, shirtless bracketed between my knees, and dipped my head to kiss his collarbone.

He shivered and exhaled, “Rebekah.”

Always

Jackson’s fingers drifted along my sides, and he guided my hands above my head. My shirt came away and he dropped it on the table beside us. His eyes burned right through me. I could feel them like a touch, trailing down over my lips. To my neck, my chest, and back again.
