I meet Ty’s eyes.
“We are in.”
The words take me aback, and I stand frozen for a second.
“We are in, man,” says Owen.
“Yeah, we are tired of this place,” says Zach from the back row.
I still can’t process what they mean when Ty’s lips stretch in a tiny smile, but his eyes glow viciously. The fucker wants adventure.
And I want to kiss every single one of them.
On the mouth.
French kiss.
With heavy petting.
Because they are the shit.
My heart starts beating so heavily in my heart that it’s hard to breathe.
I nod toward the pile of crates in the corner. “Ty, grab that crate. We need to go through it.”
I turn away to face my stash on the ground, trying to hide a smile. Now with their help, we will go slowly and think everything over. We need a plan. But more than anything, I hide my eyes because they burn with tears.
God dammit. When did I get so fucking sensitive?
“I have enough guns to destroy a legion. Owen, do the ammo count.”
I give orders, and they start moving. Like an army. They’ve been waiting for this for a long time. We are all tired of the Eastside.
“We will take revenge on Bo,” Ty says from the corner of the room. “We’ll show those fuckers.” He brings a crate and sets it loudly on the desk next to me. “And we’ll get your lady back.”
I turn to meet his gaze, and the fucker winks at me, a smile tugging at the corner of his lips.
This very second, I love him so fucking much that I would blow him. I swear, that’s how much his words mean to me.
And I am ready.
Ready to get the hell out of here.
Ready to meet face-to-face with the bastard who ruined my life.
But most importantly, I want Callie back.
Her face is the only one I see in my mind as I give more orders.
It’s going to be a long night.
Followed by several long days.
We have to hurry.
But, goddamn, do I feel alive.
And it’s her face again, smiling at me, her luminous blue eyes haunting me from across the island.
Callie Mays, it’s always been you.
My heart pounds like a war drum.
Baby girl, I am coming to get you.
