I’ve thought about asking him to move in with me, but it feels like it’s a little too soon. We’re still in the honeymoon stage of our relationship. Living together feels like it’s more for established relationships. You know, after people have been together for years. Once they know all the other person’s bad habits and have learned to accept them.

Not couples who’ve been together for less than three months.

“Are you ready?” I hear Eli ask from next to me. I’m still staring at where he was standing on the set. Lost in my own thoughts.

Not only is today the wrap of the movie, but our exclusive interview also hit newsstands this morning. Ten copies were delivered to the set earlier, but I haven’t opened the package yet.

“Yeah. I just need to grab my box of things from my office, then we can go,” I say, turning to face him. “You guys did great. You nailed that last scene in one take. One exceedingly long take.”

“The girls did most of the work. I was thinking about you the entire time. How I’d love nothing more than to take you on a trip around the world. Do everything on the list from the book. Paris. Venice.”

“As much fun as that would be, I still have work to do. Filming may be over but I’m at Ansen’s beck and call until it’s finalized.”

“Yeah, I know. You can’t leave town. Do you at least have some time off around Christmas?”

“A week. Why?”

“I was kind of hoping you’d come home with me. I know you don’t want to be here for your mom’s party.”

He’s right. I don’t. I also know I shouldn’t skip it. As much as I don’t want to see or speak to my mother, if we’re going to find common ground, this is the time. She won’t make a scene in front of her friends.

“I have a compromise, but first, let’s get out of here.”

“Someone’s excited for a little light reading,” he notes, snagging my hand and lacing our fingers together as we head toward my office.

“Not exactly. More like nervous about how she twisted our words.”
