Well,hell.

The list of people who know about Micah and me is going to be exponentially longer than I anticipated. Even though Kendall said she won’t tell Lo, there’s no way she’ll be able to keep this from her for long. Especially when we’re together. She’s going to want to talk about what’s going on between us.

Not to mention, it feels wrong for Piper and Kendall to know, but for Lo to be left in the dark. We’ve always been a unit, the four of us. We share everything, or at least we used to.

I’m going to have to tell her.

After I figure out how to break the news to Piper when she gets back next week.

Until then, I’m going to be mute on the subject.

The thought crosses my mind as my phone vibrates on the table next to me, drawing the attention, and an evil glare, from the girl sitting across from me. The library is busy this afternoon with the summer session getting ready to wrap up in a few weeks. I usually reserve myself a private cubicle, but I forgot to do it yesterday before rushing off to dinner with Micah.

He’s distracting me. Which is why I was hesitant to get involved with him in the first place. I need to focus on my classes. If I lose my scholarship—

My phone vibrates again, my tablemate letting out an irritated sigh.

I whisper an apology as I slide my finger across the screen to find two waiting texts from Kendall.

KENDALL: Want to grab a coffee?

KENDALL: And talk about stuff …

Before I can even reply, a new message from Micah pops up.

MICAH: Plans tonight? I was thinking of bringing food to your dorm so we could be alone.

A week ago, the only person texting me was Piper and that was rare since we saw each other all the time. Hell, I wouldn’t even notice if I forgot my phone in my room. And now, it refuses to stop vibrating in my hand.

MICAH: Or you’re welcome to come over here. We could watch a movie or something.

KENDALL: Or we don’t have to talk about it if you don’t want to.

MICAH: I’m game for whatever as long as I get to see you. I’ll even help you study.

MICAH: Or sit quietly while you study if you don’t want my help.

“Why don’t you just call him back?” When I look up to find the girl across from me staring with malice in her eyes, I start packing my things up.

“I’m sorry,” I mutter as I’m about to walk away.

“Whatever.”

As soon as I’m outside, I text both of them back.

ME: Coffee sounds good. Leaving the library now. Meet me at the Starbucks across from my dorm?

ME: I have an exam tomorrow. I’m going to meet K for coffee and then I need to study. You’re welcome to come over later if you want.

KENDALL: Be there in twenty.

MICAH: Are you asking me to stay the night? Because the answer is yes. It will always be yes.

I can’t help but roll my eyes at Micah’s response. He asked me to stay over at his place last night, and I hesitated. Not because I didn’t want to stay but because Kendall and Declan were still there. I could hear them moving around the apartment. Which also meant they heard exactly what we were doing in his room.

My options were to sneak back to my place or stay hidden in his room until this morning and pray neither of them were awake when I left for class.
