“Steal away,” Piper encourages. “Just make sure she’s home at a decent hour.”

“It’s Taco Tuesday,” I point out to no one in particular.

“I’ll tell the girls you weren’t feeling well.”

“I need to do my laundry.” I’ve worn the same bra four days in a row, and I’m fairly certain I only have one clean pair of underwear left. Laundry is a must tonight.

“I have a washer,” Micah whispers in my ear. “Let’s take it to my place. I’ll cook you dinner and we can chill.”

“But Tuesdays—” I start to protest as I glance in Piper’s direction for help. My words die on my lips when I see the expression on her face. She’s not going to offer me any help aside from carrying my dirty clothes to Micah’s car, shoving me inside, and waving as we drive off.

Which is exactly what she does.

With a huge smile on her face.

But not before slipping a piece of paper into my hand. I peek at it when Micah’s not looking to see two words scribbled in her perfect cursive.

Tell him.

Looks like tonight is going to be another sleepless night.
