Page 72 of Risky Little Affair

So, to say I’m a little excited to see my girl is an understatement.

It’s been two months, almost to the day, since this affair between us started. I know I’ve changed in a short amount of time. She’s helped me see things in a different light. I find myself picturing my future, beyond the next night, my next conquest. Though, I still sneak into the dorms on occasion. The major differences between before Lex and now... I don’t sneak out before sunrise and there’s only one bed I sleep in.

She’s changed, too. She doesn’t try and hide behind her clothes anymore. We actually donated almost everything she owned to the local shelter a few weeks ago and she splurged on a few new items thanks to a grant she received. I’d never been shopping with a woman before, and I would prefer to never go again. It was the longest three hours of my life. Or was it four? I lost track of time somewhere between the shoe store and the department store.

Maybe it’s the clothes, or the fact she faced her past, but you can see her confidence grow more and more each day. It looks good on her.

Almost as good as the shorts she’s wearing right now.

The same short shorts she had on the last time we picked her up from this very spot.

Damn!

“Are you gonna stare at her all day or go get her?” Declan asks as he idles next to the curb.

“Think anyone would miss us if we skipped the party?” I reach for the handle.

“You really want Mom to come here and drag your ass back to Oak Harbor?”

“Good point.” That’s the last thing I want. For my mother to meet Lex for the first time, as my girlfriend, while she’s beneath me. Or riding me, whatever she’s up for today. Because my girl is feisty and knows what she likes.

Shaking away the image of my mother’s face walking in on us in the act, I hop out of Declan’s truck and go get my girl. She’s waiting on the bench, staring down at her phone, oblivious to everything around her. The moment she feels me approach, she sucks in a stuttered breath, her head whipping in my direction.

“You look—”

“Nice shirt,” she jokes, jumping off the bench and walking into my open arms before I can even finish my sentence. “I missed you.”

“Beautiful.” It had to be acknowledged. Because Lex in those tiny shorts and the matching T-shirt I bought her is a gorgeous sight. “I missed you, too.”

Unwrapping herself from me, Lex slips her hand in mine, and we walk back to the truck. Just as I’m about to open the door for her she stops me, a devilish grin spreading across her face.

“You get in first,” she insists.

“Uh... okay.” I reach for the handle again to hop in the front, but she stops me.

“Kendall’s gonna want to sit up front.”

Nodding, I walk around the truck and hop in behind Declan. It’s not until Lex opens her door and climbs in that I realize what she’s doing. She’s recreating our first moment. Not that I needed her to. That memory is burned into the depths of my memory. I can picture it any time I want.

But watching it happen for a second time has an even greater effect on my body. Because this time, she’s mine. When I tease her and turn her on at the party, I know I’ll be rewarded later on. When she crawls in bed tonight, it’ll be my arms wrapped around her. And when I wake up in the morning, our legs tangled like they are every morning, me half on top of her, I know she’s not going to push me away.

“You did that on purpose,” I whisper, adjusting my shorts.

“Maybe.”

“Oh, you wanna play games today, is that it?”

Lex just shrugs and looks away, staring out her window, pretending to ignore me.

Leaning close so only she can hear me, I say, “Game on, baby.”

A smile briefly crosses her lips before she pulls herself together, crossing her legs as she shifts uncomfortably in her seat.

She’s just as turned on as I am.

Good.

This is going to be fun.
