Swinging my feet over the edge of the bed, I head into the bathroom to brush my teeth. Once my hair is pulled out of my face and my breath is fresh, I grab my keys and set off in search of my boyfriend, the father of my unborn child. He's left me no option.

Driving around campus, I finally spot Liam's car outside the library. At least he was telling the truth about that. Searching for a place to park, I circle the lot twice before I notice brake lights and pull up to take the space about to be vacated.

Liam's space.

Like a stalker, I wait for him to pull out and follow him out of the lot and off campus. Ten minutes later, he pulls into a restaurant parking lot and rushes inside, leaving his car running. I park across the lot, so he can't see me and patiently watch for him to exit.

When he doesn't appear after a few minutes, I get out of the car and begin walking toward the front door. That's when I realize his car is not where he parked it. He's gone, and I missed him somehow.

When I go to get back in my car, it's locked. My keys are in the ignition and my purse is on the passenger seat, my phone tucked inside.

I see a man walking out the front door of the restaurant and rush over to him, frantic.

"Can you please help me? I locked my keys in my car."

He gives me a once over, from head to toe, taking in my pajamas and fuzzy slippers. I wasn't planning on seeing anyone or even getting out of my car. I'm sure I look a hot mess.

"I don't have any money, lady."

Shaking my head at his judgment, I walk into the restaurant and ask to use the phone. The only numbers I have memorized are Liam and my mother. I can't call him, so I resort to calling her.

Let the hovering begin.
