“Hold on, big guy. I moved in with you five minutes ago. Literally, we finished moving my stuff in seconds before you arrived. You could have warned me you were coming home early.”

Now I understand why she was out of breath when I phoned.

“It wouldn’t have been a surprise if I warned you, now, would it?”

She smirks. “Instead, I surprised you.” She lifts her arms in the air. “Surprise! I moved in!”

I pick her up and twirl her around. “Welcome home, June Bug.”

My gaze lands on her mouth but before my lips can meet hers someone bangs on the patio doors again.

“I wasn’t kidding about needing the restroom,” Feather says.

“What’s wrong with you?” Sage huffs. “They were about to give us a show and you interrupted them. For the second time, I might add.”

“Why don’t you go pee in the forest like a normal person?” Cayenne asks.

“Because we’re not all yoga instructors. I don’t fancy my knees giving out while I’m squatting and having the fire department come save me while my pants are down.”

“I don’t know why not. River is dreamy.” Petal sighs.

“You would know. He’s come to your house often enough after you ‘accidentally’ started a fire with all of your candles.”

Petal frowns at Sage. “You’re supposed to keep the calls you receive as police dispatcher confidential.”

Clove bursts out laughing. “When has Sage ever kept anything confidential?”

“Who cares about confidential?” Everyone except Sage apparently. “Project MavBerry is a success. We did it again!”

The Gossip gals high-five each other. I chuckle at their antics as I motion for Feather to come inside. She opens the door, and I hear a crowd outside. I cock an eyebrow at Juniper in question.

“This is also your welcome to Winter Falls party.”

Ah, yes. I nearly forgot about the golf carts in my driveaway and the bikes in my front yard. “I’ve lived in Winter Falls for years.”

“But now you’re not here to stay for a while. You’re here to stay for forever.”

“I most certainly am, June Bug. I most certainly am.” I lean my forehead against hers. “I love you.”

“And I love you, even if you are a big Hollywood star.”

I chuckle. Only my June Bug would hold it against me for being a star.

She glances outside where I can hear people laughing and music playing. “We should probably join the party. It is on your behalf after all.”

I waggle my eyebrows. “Do we have to?”

She grasps my hand. “Yeah, we do. Because I’m not having sex with you in the house while everyone parties outside.”

“No one has to know what we’re doing.”

“I’ll know,” Feather says as she shuffles out of the bathroom toward the backdoor.

Juniper shrugs. “Welcome to Winter Falls.”

I squeeze her hand. “It’s good to be home.”

Winter Falls with all its quirks and characters and crazy environmental rules is the first place I ever felt at home. I don’t plan to live anywhere else ever again. I do plan to convince Juniper to marry me and have my children as soon as possible, though.
