“You too,” I said. “And thank you for helping Shane.”

She shrugged. “Anytime.”

Next were Killian and Lavinia.

“Rest up,” Killian said. “Or not.”

Lavinia elbowed him in the ribs, then she flashed a wide smile at us. “I have a gift for you.” She picked up a small flask from her purse and offered it to us.

I grabbed the vial. “What is this?”

“Spill some of it behind your door, on the floor,” she said, her voice low. “It’ll make your bedroom soundproof.” She winked and waved at us. “Bye!”

She and Killian zoomed out of the house with their super speed. They didn’t even stay long enough to see as the blood pinked up my cheeks.

Holding the vial, I turned to Shane. “What’s with everyone?”

A lopsided grin adorned his lips. “They know we have been apart, and we missed each other.”

My blush grew redder, I was sure.

We closed the door and went to the couch, where Tyren was seated, his eyes glued to his phone, as if he wasn’t really seeing anything anymore, and Minsi was lying down, her head on Tyren’s shoulder.

Shane scooped Minsi up and I helped Tyren up. At Tyren’s bedroom door, I kissed the top of his head. “Good night.”

“Night,” he mumbled with a yawn. He closed the door, and I heard the bed creak as he fell over it.

I turned and stopped at Minsi’s door while Shane deposited her in bed. He tucked her in, kissed her forehead, and silently backed away from the room. He pulled the door until only a small crack was open, then he turned to me.

His gaze darkened and a thrill coursed through me.

Our eyes locked, he stalked to me, one step at a time, and I backed away, matching his slow, sensual rhythm. I entered a room, his, and didn’t even bother turning on the lights. Shane came in after me and closed the door. I scooted back until I was beside the window. I drew the curtains, so a little of the moonlight spilled in through the blinds and I could look at him, at the perfection that was this man.

My mate.

He marched to me, but before he could touch me, I brought my hand up, the vial resting in my upturned palm. He got the vial from me, uncorked it, and spilled some of the liquid behind the closed door. A faint humming echoed through the room as a blue light traveled from the door to the walls, and then disappeared.

“Now you can scream for me,” he said, his voice rough.

Dear moon …

He rushed to me, but stopped short. He kept one foot between us, while he stared at me with hooded eyes.

A need hit me—a need to touchhim, to kiss and be kissed, to be taken this badly—but it consumed me in the moment.

“Kiss me,” I whispered, my head in a daze.

Shane didn’t waste a second. He stepped into me, and pressing me against the wall with his palms flat on either side of my head, caging me in, he kissed me. His lips were warm and soft and made of pure honey. I melted into his kiss, parting my lips for him. His tongue sneaked in, teasing mine and ripping a moan from my throat.

He groaned, taking my lower lip between his teeth. “Delicious,” he whispered, before taking my mouth again. His hands slid down my waist, down to my thighs, leaving a trail of fire across my body, and all I could do was moan in his mouth.

He hooked his fingers under the hem of my shirt, teasing my skin. I gasped, sinking my nails into his shoulders. He groaned again before splaying his big hands on the back of my thighs and tugging on them. My mind on a cloud of pure delight, I let him pull my legs up, and I was half conscious as I wrapped them around his waist. He thrust his hips against mine, rubbing his erection on me. I moaned again.

His lips trailed down my jaw, pausing at my neck. His labored breathing was all I could hear as he thrust his hips into mine again. Helpless, I moaned once more.

“Fuck, these little sounds …” He bit the tip of my ear, then slid his hands to my ass and pulled me up against him.

I yelped as he crossed the room and deposited me on his bed. Sliding his hot hands over my skin, he pulled my pants off, revealing my lace panties.
