“I’m sorry, Emma.”

“For what?” She asks, her voice quiet and shaky.

“I should have told you ‘I love you’ this morning, but I was afraid of overwhelming you. You didn’t seem that thrilled that we had gotten married and you looked a little miserable from your hangover. I’m done holding back, though.”

I take her limp hands in mine, turning to face her fully.

“I’m crazy about you and I don’t want to pretend anymore that I’m not. We’re meant to be, Emma. Tell me that you know it, too,” I plead with her and she studies my face.

Her cute little pink tongue darts out to wet her lips and I swallow back a groan. She’s holding my heart in her hands and I’m getting turned on by the smallest things.

“I know,” she whispers and before I know it, she’s closing the distance between us and kissing me.

Her candy sweet taste hits my tongue and I moan. I want to grab her and haul her against me. I want to devour her, but this is the first time that she’s initiated our kiss, and I want her to take over this time.

She does just that.

She pushes her curvy little body against mine, rubbing those sweet curves against me until I’m out of my mind with lust.

I can feel that her nipples are hardened into stiff little points as they brush against my chest. I want them in my hands. I want them in my mouth.

She pulls back then and I have to close my hands into fists to stop myself from reaching for her.

I can’t wait to have her alone. I slip my hand beneath her legs and behind her back, scooping her up in my arms and carrying her out of the noisy bar as the bridesmaids stare after us in shock.

I flag down a cab and settle Emma on my lap in the backseat as the driver fights the late night traffic back to the Luxor.

I have a million questions I want to ask her, but I want to do it when we’re alone. It takes us close to twenty minutes to make it back to the hotel.

I nuzzle my lips against her neck the entire ride, telling her how beautiful she is. I whisper how funny and smart I think she is, and how kind she is. My little optimist. I whisper how perfect I think she is and how I knew from the minute I saw her that she and I were meant to be together.

The cab pulls up out front of our hotel and I pay, gripping Emma’s hand tight as I hurry inside with her. We make a beeline for the elevators and as soon as we step on, I’ve got her pinned to the wall.

My lips land on hers, my hands tangling in her hair as she wraps one of her legs around my hips. I can feel how hot she is for me through the layers of our clothes and I can’t wait to get back to our room.

The elevator doors open and I drag Emma over to our suite and then inside. We head right for the bedroom and I pick her up, laying her in the center of the bed and then coming down over top of her.

“We need to clear up a few things.”

“We do?” she asks breathlessly as she tries to rock against me.

“Yes, we do.”

I grin when I see her pouting, but I need to clarify a few things with her.

“Why did you leave me at the casino?” I ask, trying to catch her eye.

Her eyes start to water and my heart breaks at seeing her tears.

“I didn’t understand why you wanted to be with me. I let other people get in my head,” she admits between hiccups.

I try to calm her down, kissing away her tears.

“I love you, Emma. No one and nothing else is going to tear us apart.”

She nods, sniffling.

“I always had a crush on you, but you never noticed me before.”
