Chapter 3

We don’t meet people by accident. They are meant to cross our path for a reason.

It’s the end of our trip and the end of the week. Unfortunately, this means that it’s time to go back to reality. I have spent most of my time each day with Anton, though I have been sure to make time for Bethany as well. The two of them seem to even get along pretty well, which is important. I don't know what it is about this man specifically. There are so many things to choose, from his looks to his alpha male ways that I could pick, but I think that's it. He’s the whole package, and I just feel that it clicks with Anton. It is so early to tell, but it feels right. Who knows, this could just be our insane chemistry that draws me to him so much.

He offered to take Bethany and I to the airport today but imagine my surprise when instead of taking the direction to the main airport where we landed our first day here in Miami, we ended up at a small airport. Specifically, a private airport. It doesn’t take me long to figure out that Anton wants us to fly home on his jet.

We get out of the car right there on the landing strip in front of a large, luxurious plane. I knew he was rich, but not this rich. It begs me to wonder what else he does.

“This is friggin awesome!” Bethany squealed, the wind whipping her blonde hair back as she adjusts her Gucci sunglasses. “Thank your boyfriend,” she says a little quieter to me, and I give her a look.

“You didn't have to do this for us, Anton,” I say as his arm comes to wrap around my waist.

“I wanted to do it,” he informs me, doing that thing that drives me crazy where he's right in my ear. It’s like his signature move, I swear. It's going to kill me. “If I want to do things for the woman I'm dating, I very well will,” he adds.

I don't mind the way he lords that over me. It feels thoughtful rather than controlling. At least, I hope I am right about that. “It's time to go,” I say as Bethany makes her way on board, probably going to check out the comfy seats or complimentary libations. I linger as I turn around to look at Anton, his eyes and hands on me, sliding up my body and then across my cheek.

“I don't want you seeing anyone,” he says suddenly, starting the conversation I've been holding my breath for. “No other men. Just me. I know that it isn't fair; that normal people don't just see their significant others just a few times a month. Every time I have a few days off or I am in town for business, I will see you. I promise.”

I am a little taken aback by this. It wasn’t what I was expecting, but I am not about to protest. I expected to see him in Seattle for a few rounds of fucking when he was in town. Never did I expect him to want to exclusively date me, but I can’t deny that I am feeling something strong for him.

Anton shakes his head. “I know it sounds crazy, but I feel drawn to you.”

I can tell his confidence is depleted at his words. He doesn’t know how I feel about this. So, I giggle and lean into his chest. “It’s the same for me.” His lips are on mine as soon as it comes out of my mouth, and this kiss is rough, one to remember until the next time.

“You behave, my feisty little redhead, until I see you again.” I laugh and make an ‘X’ over my chest to cross my heart before I run to the steps of the plane. If I don’t, I’ll never leave.
