“Boys, stop it, we have company,” Mom chided as Kolson said, “Dick,” and reached for Tanner to put him in a headlock. Tanner sprinted from his seat, nearly knocking over a bleary-eyed, mussed-haired Autumn as he did.

Kolson stopped in his tracks. And he thought she was sexy last night.

“Hey.” She smiled at him. He no longer cared that Tanner splattered cereal all over or that it was now getting soggy. He couldn’t take his eyes off her.

“Good morning, Autumn, would you like me to make you breakfast?” Mom asked.

Kolson’s jaw dropped. “You never make breakfast.”

Mom cradled a coffee mug and leaned against the counter. “Like I said, we have a guest.” Then she turned to Autumn, “Sorry about the boys.”

“I’m used to it. I have a brother.” Autumn said. Then they went into a conversation about how loud and messy boys were. Kolson didn’t mind though, he liked that Autumn was at his home, talking to his mom.
