Caging me with both arms on either side of me, he bends down and captures my mouth in a deep and languish kiss, dropping his hands and allowing them to roam up my body.

“Are you okay?” he asks after a moment. I nod, taking his lips again and earning a low growl from the man in front of me. “I want to fuck you so much right now, baby. But I gotta get you home.”

“Why?”

“Don’t you watch movies with your dad on Thursday nights?” I pull from him and far enough away so I can look up at his face. His lips are parted as he heaves in air through those devilish pieces of flesh.

“How would you know that?”

“Heard you talkin’ about it with your friends once.” His mouth floats dangerously closer to mine. “You know you always didn’t run from me, right? Sometimes I was close by while you were too engrossed in a conversation that I was but a fucking arms’ length away from. You don’t know how hard it was not to corner you somewhere, Mags, and force you to see me.”

My skin tingles at each word he exploits, only amping up the realization that I’m so beyond lucky to be loved by Asher Clark.

“I’m seriously mortified that you even had to go through that,” I mutter. “Why do you like me again?”

His lips curl. “Because you’re just…you, Mags. You’re beautiful and kind and indescribable. You’re one of a kind. Absolutely stunning and smart, I could go on and on, but I sound like a fucking idiot right now.”

I shake my head. “No, you don’t. You’re perfect. And I don’t deserve you.”

“Bullshit,” he whispers back. “’Cause one day when we’re older, I’m going to marry the shit out of you and you’re gonna proudly wear my name.”

“I’m proud being with you now.”

His lips graze mine when he says, “That’s what’ll get you fucked thoroughly, baby. And that’s what I like to hear.”
