“Fuck, man. But I’m studying.”

“She’s just your tutor. Nothing more than that.”

“You’re right. But my grades are shit,” I admit.

“It’s not like she’s going to jump on your dick. You know I’m good for it.”

“I’ll just go. Go to the party, Cashel.” Oakley jumps up and runs out.

Abbiel laughs as Oakley runs out. I chuckle even though I shouldn’t.

“What? I was only speaking the truth.”

“You’re terrible,” I snort.

“What? You know it’s true. No one likes her. She won’t do anything for you, like I can.”

“Give me ten and I’ll be there.” I pat her ass as she squeals. I think I can use a break since I worked hard.

I should go and apologize to Oakley first, though.

She’s nowhere on the sidewalk. Driving the route back to her apartment, I keep an eye out for her.

Damn, she’s fast.

I knock on her door, and she pulls it open, tears streaming down her face.

“Fuck,” I mumble.

“Just go to the party. I knew I never mattered,” she says, shoving my bag at me.

“Listen,” I try to stop her, but she slams the door shut.

I guess I’m going to a party.
