As he erratically drove, he could hear her screaming in the trunk. "Help! Help me!"

At the next red light, he intentionally slammed hard on his brakes to shut her up. When he heard her thud against the car, he smiled. A moment of happiness in his rage.

Stupid "bride." She didn't even deserve to wear that wedding dress. He hated that it was still on her body, but it wouldn't be for long--he was going to rid her of it.

Her vows had been awful. No creativity, not even a mention of how wonderful he was. All she'd done was try to manipulate him.

"Please, if I marry you, will you let me go? I'll still come see you, but I need to have space..."That was what she'd said, and it was despicable.

He mocked her out loud and made a face. “Please let me go, please let me go.”

She was not his true love and she never would be.

So, he needed to find another.

And he had just the right girl in mind.

As he drove up the street, he saw the diner up ahead. Finally, relief. His true love was in there. In the trunk, his fiancé kicked and screamed.

"Help me! Somebody! Help me!"

He shook his head. "That's not going to do you any good, bride."

He parked his car in the parking lot at the back of the diner. Through the window of the diner, he could see her: his true love, waiting tables, wearing her uniform. Once she was with him, she'd never have to work a day in her life again. She was perfect. She was the one.

"She'd actually appreciate me," he said to his nowex-fiancé. "You were a waste. A waste of resources."

"Let me go!" her muffled voice yelled, barely audible. He needed to shut her up—she would give them both away. Sighing, he got out of the car and went to the trunk, opening it. His ex was tied up, and she went to scream—but swiftly, he brought his fist down on her face, shutting her up and giving her a bloody nose. She was quiet after that.

He went to the front of the car and sat on the hood.

Soon, his true love would be going on her break. She would leave through the back door, and that was when he would strike.

As she got up from the table, his true love's eyes met his in the window.

She was watching.

She was waiting for him.

He cried out in joy.

He'd found her. It was predestined.

They recognized each other, and now there was no need for him to go through with his plan with the other girl. He'd just come up with a new plan, and it was better than the old one.

He leaned back on the trunk, waiting for his true love to come out. The sky was a beautiful blue, with fluffy white clouds. The sun shone brightly, and there was a gentle breeze that rustled the leaves and flowers. It was a perfect day.

His true love finally came out through the back door. He waved at her, smiling ear-to-ear. She looked over her shoulder with a look of confusion on her face, then slowly approached.

"Hello there," he said.

She frowned, perplexed. "Do I know you?"

"Oh, of course!" He stood up straight, then squinted at her. "Oh, my, I'm sorry. I thought you were someone else!"

"Oh..." She laughed awkwardly, leaning away.

"Would you mind helping me with something real quick?" he asked. Still smiling wide, to show he meant no harm. He'd never hurt his one true love.
